It was June of 1997, and I was going to Florida Atlantic University at the time. It was July, so the campus was quiet; but of course, the heat was scorching. I needed a quiet, comfortable, and shady spot. I was sleepy, and had 3 hours to kill between classes. I didn't want to drive home and nap, so I looked around, and noticed the large banyan trees on the campus.
A banyan tree is much wider than it is tall, and thus, has huge tree trunks. One such tree by Administration, had a trunk that branched in three places, and it divided perfectly about 4 feet up. So I climbed up, and sat down in the cradle of the banyan tree, which had lots of soft fallen leaves in the center, so my backside was comfortable.
And there I slept for about an hour. When I woke up, quite a few red ants were crawling on my arm, so I never repeated the experience. However, I made the best of what nature had to offer, considering the circumstances.
