Turbo Lag saw this car today and sent me this picture to see if I could help identify it. Unfortunately he didn't have a good camera so these are what we have to work with:

Turbz will have to be the final authority on this since he was the one that saw it, but we've determined that it's not a Maverick, or a Mustang.

That's what I said, but he's 100% sure it's not any mustang at all.

He also specified that the front end had no grill. Was just two headlights and an open grill, kind of like a 69 camaro. The main problem is you cant really see the tail lights, because it also kind of looks like a 70s camaro.

The only other car I can think of that has that type of look would be the AMC AMX.

The AMCs haven't got the 'meaty' rear fender things, you know how the 70's Cuda, new Challenger, new Camaro etc have the aggressive rear fender bit, this car we're talking about has an exaggerated one of those. The car is matte black and has huge rear tyres, obviously in 'rake style'.

With the gas cap in the center it looks like an old early 70s Maverick " Ford" or Torino.

Torino is the closest by far, but this car has more 'straight' body lines and the more meaty rear fender thing.

Its such a shoddy photo, its hard to tell anything. I'm thinking late-model Charger (like, '73+). But I don't think that's right.

it's a cobra 2.

it's got the beasty rear thing going on, the big back lights (that I can tell) and the stuff in the middle. plus, the huge back window. also, because of their low price but alright looks and modification ability, they are a little common as drag cars.

Ahem, doesn't need to be a proper Cobra, Tupac.

Could very well just be a normal Pinto in drag I mean Mustang II.

Looking at the grainy picture, it reminds my of the first car you drive in the original Driver game! I do think tupacrulez is correct about it being a Mustang II, but from the description of the front I'm confused. He said it didn't have a grill, but who could miss that ugly*** grill Ford put on them cars.

Ok, that one ain't to bad, but in general the car is hideous.

it matches a lot with a ford mustang much 1 70'

It could very well be a Mustang, but if so a very highly modified one. After looking through a lot of Mustang photos, none of them have resemblance.

Just looks like a Falcon XA-XC coupe to me, like Mad max

Imagine this in black

Here is a replica madmax (excuse the roof spolier and it is close)

You can even see the rear bumper cutouts where the tail lights go.

It's a 1977 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

Possibly.

Ahem

MAY WE GET COUNTRY OF ORIGIN, PLEASE? That would help. Pretty sure we don't have any Australian cars (that aren't badged as Pontiacs) 'round here.

Erm....by that photo, it could be anything. It might not even be a car.

Were you using a Flight of the Conchords camera phone?

Turbo Lag saw this car today

And where is Turbo Lag from, Australia 💡

It's amazing what you can figure out with some common sense.

That photo was taken atleast when the car was 100meters away, and it's only a 2MP camera anyway, so I think it's OK.

its an aussie Falcon people, there is no other way around it. The only other choice would be a Torino, but nah, too different from the only Torino that would match. it is indeed and aussie Falcon.

Australia, which is why the Falcon coupe is by far the most likely, especially considering the rear bumper matches and the general profile.

Haha, it would probably be better quality then.
