I had recently acquired this car and the bloody thing will not go over 200MPH downhill no matter the tuning, I cannot believe that Bugatti would market an under-powered car and have it as a Gr.4 racer? Can someone please explain to me why I cannot get this beautiful looking car to go faster than 185? (tried all different trans sets)

Because it’s a Gr.4 car with a Gr.4 gearbox?

It's a fictional version of a real car racing in a fictional version of a real race class, what did you expect?

other Gr.4 cars have better performance just the same , why did they have to cripple this one?

Far from being crippled, it's always the car of choice in any Daily Race in Gr.4 at Monza - the track with the highest average speed apart from SSRX...
i do admit that this one does handle very well, I will keep this regardless...

If you were expecting to unleash all 1000 horses upon a category where all the other cars make around 400 horses each, then I got some bad news for you, dawg.
I had seen the Hp was 400+ but i expected a little more speed..

Under BoP, the Veyron is the most powerful car in its class at 453 hp, with the next highest being the Atenza at 415 hp. Of course, this extra power is reigned in by being the heaviest car in its class, weighing in at 3,638 pounds, a good 400 extra pounds over other heavyweights like the Citroen.

And as others have pointed out, this extra weight means that the Veyron usually only gets fielded at tracks with straights long enough to make full use of the extra horses like Monza.

Not assuming any one hasn't, but checking the stats of all the cars, can help you gauge it's performamce.

If you have time to read the info, there's an asterisk at the bottom that denotes what class/regulations the car is built to

I say again, many players don't know about real GT3 and GT4 racing. They're unaware these fantasy cars are built to mimic real race series. Some probably think these race cars will be faster than some of their road car brethren, in a straight line.

I guess if you have the Credits. Maybe buy all the Veyrons. Do at least one lap of each car, at any of your favourite tracks and see where the measure performance wise.

It's not just a lack of power that limits the top speed but also all that downforce a Group 4 racer comes with. If you were able to make it do 185 mph as it is then it would sure crack 200 in a standard Veyron's body. I don't know if you can downtune the production version to the power level of the Group 4 variant but if you can, why not try it out?

ahhhhh have you tried switching to Kilometers? ;)

It took me some fiddling around but I got it to do 200 mph. Barely :) Maximum power, minimum weight and downforce. Transmission settings as shown below. First adjust Max Speed and then Final Gear. Didn't do anything about the suspension and drivetrain because I don't know too much about them. On SSRX's downhill section it'll even briefly do 204

Well sure, but then its not GR4 BOP legal.
At only 453 HP its kinda surprising that it will even hit 185, thats a pretty stout number for that wheezy HP figure.

OP never once said anything about BOP or competetive racing. They merely expressed their disappointment over how a car bearing the Bugatti badge wouldn't crack 200 mph. And I showed them that it does. It's just a fun experiment :)

edit: It has to be said though that, even if there were no BOP regulations, the Veyron would still not be top dog. The Alfa 4C easily hits 206 mph before even getting to the incline section of the track, despite being slightly heavier than the Veyron at their minimum weight settings. Power (494 HP) and downforce (150/450) are the same for both cars.

It’s not unusual for race spec cars, IRL, to have less HP than the road cars. GT3 Corvettes, for example, I think have less than their road car versions. The rules and BoP targets mean that’s how it shakes out. So it’s nothing to do with Bugatti’s engine capabilities.
