What is wrong with my GT5? It keeps making actual game/car related mistakes. 71hp?

I've said in the past on GT planet I've had weird things happen to me, like tuning parts on cars being undone days or weeks later. Eg my Gt apex corrolla, had every tuning part installed. Days later I find only a few parts remained installed like suspension and transmission and a racing filter, but the other parts had deleted themselves off the car and gone back to stock, as if they were never purchased in the first place.

And I don't mean I've simply forgotten or messed up and the parts or not saved, this is after days of gt5 use and saving.
Also before someone inevitably says, no the parts are not in the parts list...I used the actual car fully tuned for a while.

This has happened across varying cars about 7 times since launch.

Sometimes I load the game, it says the following cars have been added to your garage, and all my stealth and chrome cars have all upgrades uninstalled. You don't get your money back either! But I think this is a separate matter, and is not included in the 7 car count, which happened to normal non special edition cars.

The other day the strangest thing by far happened. With actual lasting tangible evidence.

I wanted to do the seasonal cappucinno challenge.

I had a 95 Fully stock not driven cappucino in my garage. I race modded it.

To my suprise, the HP remained the same at 71 after the Race Mod, though this may be normal.
However, furthermore, I could not even upgrade anything on the car as it seemed it was maxed out at the stock 71 hp.

Anyway I read other people who were doing the event were laughing at how easy it was, yet I barely managed to win. Then i saw their cappucinos had like 140hp and mine was stuck on 71!

I had a closer look and sure enough the tuning shop parts and car stats were all messed up.

Take a look for yourself. I have taken some pics, and a video in advance for some who may think I'm pulling a prank.
Basically it says parts are installed, yet the HP has not gone up, and when you try to install it again it says this is already installed.

Furthermore I still have the Car in my garage, and yes the stats are still messed up! They seem to be part of the car. :scared:

Finnaly, I would be happy to trade the car to a nominated trusted GTP member, if they are interested in investigating how this happened first.

Maybe with some playing around they can end up with a 900hp Cappucino! (this is why I think its good to send it to a long time trusted member)

P.S I hope this is not a common glitch and Ive just been an idiot.

Sounds more like data corruption to me

I would backup my game frequently your HDD may be about to kick the can

I don't think its as simple as plain data corruption. If that were the case how come we do not see anyone driving around with a 100000hp Lancer. it would have happened to someone by now. If things can mess up for worse they can also mess up for the better.

Also I have a new slim. There is no corruption on anything else. There are also no signs of anything kicking the can. Im pretty sure it will keep going for 10 years plus. There must be another explanation.

I've also had parts disappear off my cars like you described, I've had the carbon hood disappear twice off my Lexus ISF and had all the mods besides the basic ones disappear too on a couple of cars.

Car aids?

No. I had the car tested.

Yea I had a feeling this was a common thing. I had a few guys mention it as well when gt5 came out. That I understand. Parts get undone, but this? This means the car stats are totally messed up. Its not something you can just reapply.

It is really weird. I'm am wondering if you can go down in max hp I wonder if you can go up. This type of thing does not fill me with confidence when racing with others online.

I'm also curious to see what happens when I trade the car to someone. If they are also unable to apply the parts to get it pas 71, or if it will remain messed up on their end too.

The only time I have had parts disappear is when I deliberately make them go. I fully tuned a Mk 1 Golf (mistake!!) and took it for a drive. After discovering it was allergic to corners (well, it was pretty reluctant to turn) I quit the game to remove the parts. After upgrading the parts will only stay on the car if you manaually save or an event happens to cause the game to save.

I presume you checked in settings to make sure that the parts are not there, I presume also that they are not sitting in amongst your Items.

I've also had parts mysteriously disappear, AND the same thing has happened to me in the tuning menu, also with the engine upgrade stages. I was able to fix it, but it's been a while and I can't remember what I did to make it work.

I never experienced your recent problem, but I have seen people talk on a thread here somewhere, of not being able to tune cars properly after race mod, unless they did the upgrades before they race mod the cars.

In those crazy countries like everywhere me and you are not from, it's day/month/year.

This.

Not that I care which system is used as long as the world uses the same one, I will say it seems more crazy to me to break the natural order of magnitude by going mm/dd/yyy rather than dd/mm/yyyy.

Days are the smallest, then months then years. So that's how you should sort them for linearity and ease.

Going months, then back to days then jumping to years seems like the inferior system unless you can think of a reason why its better? The only thing I can think of is its easier to get a perceptive on what month we are talking about by putting the month first. Then we see in greater detail what day it was by looking at the day second if need be, and then finally year is last which is easiest to spot.

But like I said I wish the same system was used all over the world. The worst thing is this is the only thing in the western world which you have to ASK and confirm what system is being used, and there is no way to tell just by looking at the data. Eg with Lb and Kg and cm and M and feet and inches etc, they are all listed as part of the measurement. This date thing is not.

"I see said the blind man." Very weird bug indeed. The question is how do you reproduce it, or is it just some random incident? Another question that comes to mind is also, if, you were to join an online room with said car, will the car pass a 73hp room limit. Because it might have it labeled higher internally.

One time my SRT8 upgrades uninstalled for no reason. I lost a few races before I realized what was going on. At least I was able to reinstall them without having to repurchase. This happened during the first week of gameplay but hasn't happend since.

Inconsistancies like the one described in the OP are annoying!

Have you tried gifting the car to a friend then getting it back... Maybe that will fix it?

I always wondered what the big deal was about the 9th of november:dopey:
The only other place I've been that uses this weird system is the Philippines.

Well this is it then? Would you agree this is the same problem and it has occurred before? Because this is the first time I have seen it.

Also I guess this means its more likely to be a bug rather than data corruption....

It seems to be the same problem, from what I remember of the discussion. I can't remember what the thread was called and I think the thread might have been about one of the race events.

Edit: did you try to equip the parts in the settings page?

I have no idea. Random, it seems.

Yes! The car should pass a 73hp room limit because thats how much it really has. But I think the lowest you can set is 90hp?

I have a question. When you RM a normal cappuccino and NOTHING goes WRONG, does it still have 71hp before adding parts?

If so it seems there is no advantage to this glitch

However, aren't there cars where the hp DOES go UP when you RM a car, whether you like it or not?

If so, If this glitch could be reproduced on a car like that, You could get a RM car within the regulations of that stock car. Because the HP does not go up with this glitch even if you RM.

I RMed a Cappucino last night, painted it, and saved the game. No extra parts, no oil change, no races. I'll check it when I get home.

I have too losted some tunings/tyres and surely bought and done those but I did found that if parts invested and then even if done some tuning on garage, game does not autosave those exchanges, it must be done with savebutton if then straight away ending game without any races or some other things which make autosave active.

After noticing that, all tunings and shoppings have been as it should be.

I've had this happen to me after doing practice and going back to the home screen. So what you're saying is not always the case.

No, the parts had clearly been saved. As I said in my OP they were on the car for many loads and saves of gt5.

That's what I was saying, I probably should have made it clearer.

Can you equip the parts you got from RM in the settings? Maybe you have the parts but they are not installed on the car?

The only occurence i have had with glitches is a painted car that was black, but re-painted matte white, yet when i drive it it is still black, but on the menu's and other car displays it shows white.

I had a similar problem only it was the carbon bonnet on the car was not visible, except on the thumnail of the car and the picture in the settings section. I was still able to buy another carbon bonnet afterwards.

I've not played the game for about a month but I had an issue where I would buy new tyres for my car and when I choose a different event the tyres have never even been purchased, so I have to buy them again... every single time.
