What is wrong with my GT5? It keeps making actual game/car related mistakes. 71hp?

Why does your date acquired say 4/12/10? The game wasn't even available then.

Is that not British date format? 4th December 2010?

Edit: Next time I will read the thread properly and not be person no.436,984 pointing out a simple error.

The only occurence i have had with glitches is a painted car that was black, but re-painted matte white, yet when i drive it it is still black, but on the menu's and other car displays it shows white.

This is easy to fix. Just go to the car in the garage. Press triangle and click on create thumbnail. It will update the preview thumbnail to the actual look of the car.
I dont know why the did this. Sometimes the thumbnail updates sometimes it does not. its weird.

That's what I was saying, I probably should have made it clearer.

Can you equip the parts you got from RM in the settings? Maybe you have the parts but they are not installed on the car?

Ok I see what you are saying.
I just went and checked everything proplerly. Here's what happened.

It basically says the RM parts are fitted in the parts shop, but in the HP stats they may may as well not be. Going into the settings and manually toggling the parts how you said actually worked to an extent and raised the hp! But things are messed up.

I managed to fit manually some of the RM parts in the settings menu, boosting the HP to 110, however this ONLY worked for the parts you can equip and unequip. "This tuning cannot be undone" parts, such as engine tuning, cannot be fitted, because they game thinks they already are.

The funny thing is in both the parts shop AND settings menu, it says stage 1 engine tuning is equipped and fitted, however the HP does not reflect this. The hp is what it would be if it was left stock, Furthermore, when you try to fit stage 2 engine tuning it says you need to install these parts in a specific order!

What you just said reminded me of another issue I had with a car. RM Integra, racing exhaust fitted previously. When I did the RM, the part was still installed (listed AND checked in the tuning menu) but the HP was gone. I had to buy a lesser part, install that, then go back to the tuning menu and reinstall the first part to get the HP gain.

Hey relax. He was just asking a genuine and reasonable question.

For all anyone knows, I may as well have gotten the car in april 2010. If I had a US PS3 and super early copy it would say exactly that.

Its not like it says 4/12/2010 UK format or mm/dd/yyyy, it just says the date and nothing else. If this was a date past 24 nov, no one including you would be able to tell the real date, unless they asked the op for the date format.

Eg You see a pic with a date acquired of 12/11/2010. Good luck to anyone guessing what is what unless they ask what date format its in because its impossible.

I see, I had a to install engine stage tuning after buying RM for a car before, and it let me continue with engine upgrades after, but it was a different car. Did you try duping the car to see if the problem persists, or just sending it to another account?

No. I had the car tested.

👍 Awesome, sometimes it takes a while before it will test positive.

I would think about isolating the car, maybe set (quarantine) it to online so no one can use it.

I've also had parts mysteriously disappear, AND the same thing has happened to me in the tuning menu, also with the engine upgrade stages. I was able to fix it, but it's been a while and I can't remember what I did to make it work.

Did you check under the Items menu under GT Life, if you purchase something but don't apply it right away, it goes there and can be applied to any car later on.

Not that I care which system is used as long as the world uses the same one, I will say it seems more crazy to me to break the natural order of magnitude by going mm/dd/yyy rather than dd/mm/yyyy.

The way I've rationalized it, at least, is that here in North America we tend to state the date as "February 11, 2011", so writing 2/11/2011 makes it natural to read left-to-right. In Europe and Asia, people tend to say "11th of February, 2011" so 11/2/2011 is the logical reading order.

Of course, I just fabricated that explanation in my own mind to explain it. :)

Nah, I figured that out very early. I've had parts simply disappear twice. Once the money was back, so it was obviously a failure to save on my part, but the other time the money was NOT back.

Hmm, you say this happened to your Cappuccino, I will go RM mine and see if I can recreate similar results. If it's a glitch then it should happen to my Cappuccino as well. Tell me the exact order of how you did things and I will attempt to duplicate it. I have yet to come across such a glitch aside from the B Spec auto transmission thing.

I'm pretty sure you wont be able to recreate it, glitches cant always be recreated with just simple instructions, but you can give it a shot if you want.

All I did was get in a fully stock not driven 95 cappucino, change the oil, then RM it.

How I about I just send you the actual car and we will see what happens.

Ok... my RM Crappucino has 71hp.

The engine upgrade is not showing as purchased OR installed.

The racing exhaust, however, IS showing in the tuning shop AND the setup screen as INSTALLED. The other exhausts are now unavailable to purchase, so I have no idea whether or not the HP gain from the racing exhaust is actually being applied to the car. What is the stock HP?

The other bonus parts are showing as purchased but not installed, and when selected, add the appropriate HP gain.

I noticed this problem as well. One night my high speed turbo just disappeared from my 905 race car, and I bought it just a few minutes before. I thought originally that if you uncheck it before a race, it will go away forever, but after changing my 8C around to fit regulations in an online room, they stayed purchased. Very odd indeed.

This.

Days are the smallest, then months then years. So that's how you should sort them for linearity and ease.

Going months, then back to days then jumping to years seems like the inferior system unless you can think of a reason why its better? The only thing I can think of is its easier to get a perceptive on what month we are talking about by putting the month first. Then we see in greater detail what day it was by looking at the day second if need be, and then finally year is last which is easiest to spot.

But like I said I wish the same system was used all over the world. The worst thing is this is the only thing in the western world which you have to ASK and confirm what system is being used, and there is no way to tell just by looking at the data. Eg with Lb and Kg and cm and M and feet and inches etc, they are all listed as part of the measurement. This date thing is not.

As far as I was aware the date is set like that so when you save files on a computer in a folder that are dated (I.e. 1/27/2009 accounts) they appeared in order so January at top December at bottom and then set in the appropriate days.

I'll attempt this later on when I wake up as I am writing this partially asleep. Seems to be that the oil change before RM might the cause to the issue after reading someone else reply who had a similar issue.

When you RM a car the parts do not get installed, they're there and in the parts section, but you have to select them to install them.

The bit of parts un-installing though... god knows!

Hmm, I've had something like this when race modding a car. I think I had already done engine mods to the car before race modification, so I expected to lose them. I bought the race mod, then proceeded to do the engine level 1, 2 and 3 mods. I was able to purchase level 2 engine mod but when atempting to install it, it said they must be installed in order even though I already have the previous enginem mod (level 1) purchased and installed. I tried this via the tuning menu and items menu. Sorry I cannot be more specific regarding recreating the bug - I'm working from my creaky old memory here.

One thing that I noticed yesterday was this.

I have the 1st Gen Mazda RX-7 premium, one of my FIRST cars... Yesterday I was going through my garage and noticed that the picture of the car in the garage did not match the actual car when I clicked on it.

I purchased the carbon fiber hood when I first got the car but for some reason the car did not have the black hood or hood pins when viewing and driving but the thumbnail pic had the carbon fiber hood so the car had changed in between me modding it to yesterday. One thing that didn't change was the tuning, everything I had purchased before was paid for and installed.

There is some weird stuff going on with this game.

I had a similar issue with a lotus europa '71.

I buy upgrades for it then magically they all dissapear again with the exception of the rear wing.

The answer was to sell the car and buy a new one. Obviously something got corrupted but getting rid appears to fix.

Sell, buy new. Return to sanity.

This is happening to me now! My yellow bird I tuned fully on Thursday, I've jsut signed in now and it's back stock!

S**t game!

The vanishing upgrade bug claims another victim! Had spent a LOT upgrading my Dn-X Concept, did a lot of races in it last night then today all the upgrades are gone, along with all the money I spent on them! So frustrating :ouch:

Only glitch of any note i remember is one of my BMW M's (cant remember which) did not have a thumbnail pic in my garage, just a blank space - could be viewed fine though.. ended up selling it and thankfully it hasn't happened to any cars since.

I had a similar bug yesterday, on my Tuscan RM, i went into tuning to see what modifications had been done, and Stage 2 and 3 engine upgrades weren't installed. I cant remember if I had installed them before, but it said it had stage 1 installed so im guessing I obviously forgot to install 2&3, or possibly theyve been deleted somehow. So i went to install Stage 2 and it said I had to install parts in order, but I had stage 1 installed already. I went back to the home screen and started again, but same problem. I even tried to install it from my items list, in case it was a fault with the tuning shop itself, but it wouldnt let me install it.

Anybody had a similar issue?
I wonder if its RM related, as the OP was also using an RM, albeit a different car though.

I know this topic is quite old (no new posts since 14 Feb), but my post is important I think.

You don't have to sell the car. Just go to your garage and to the thumbnail, press the button with the green triangle, than there should be some options. Select 'Reload thumbnail' or however it's called in your GT5 version, after that the symbol should appear again.

I have exactly the same problem with my blue Nissan GT-R R35. All parts were installed, now it has everything except the engine upgrades. I have driven about 1,500 km in it (it's one of my favourite cars I use for most races) without having any problems, than I've noticed that it was going a little bit slower. I thought I would have to change the oil, I did it, but it still wasn't as fast as before. I've even spend more than 100,000 Credits on refreshing the engine and body. Still not as fast as before, so I opened the tuning menu to see if the setup has changed itself... at least I didn't do it. Everything was like before except the engine upgrades. I don't know how to fix that because I can't upgrade it any more.

because we don't say 10th of december 1999. we say december 10th, 1999. ;)

i agree it should be standard though.. don't really care which way but i see this issue often working in IT, databases specifically.
