What is wrong with this car?

I bought a 1970 dodge challenger, installed some upgrades, and this car will not go over 105mph, which obviously is not realistic at all.

Is there something wrong with the parts I installed? I basically upgraded everything.

The short gearing on the American classics seem to be exaggerated. Stretch out the ratios w/ the FC transmission.

How would I now what the top speed should be?

Trial and error and depends on the track. I set fully modified '69 Camaro SS to top out at like 175 and have no problems on the tracks I needed it for.

if you have the challenger fully tuned power-wise, then u should put the top speed somewhere around 200-230, cause its still going to accelerate pretty fast. If you plan on using it in races where the other cars are faster, make the top speed about 150

I've tried mustang mach 1, challenger and camaro and when you increase the hp all it does is add 5mph topspeed but half the time it takes to get you there lol. Fully customisable transmission is a must, all these cars will top out over 160mph but still have enough mid range to get you out of the corners quickly.

I haven`t gotten to play the game yet (it`s in another country:dunce:), but in GT4 all the classic cars had rev limiters. I don`t think any cars old enough to lack an ECU had rev limiters, and probably not the type that would cut fuel\spark and drop your speed the way the cars did in GT4. If there are "old" cars with rev limiters they would probably just stop accelerating at a certain RPM and not jump back and forth over the limiter. People on the Corvette forums I frequent a lot says the first gen Chevy smallblock will rev until it throws connecting rods at you. The cars would probably reach their real top speed if that rev limiter was removed, but you`d quickly kill a real car this way. I know you can add rev limiters by installing a small chip in the distributor on Chevy 350s, but I don`t know how old this technology is (example: http://www.zip-corvette.com/ProductDetails/ProductDetails.aspx?pid={97a133a3-6c1b-473d-8fe7-138d011a2464}&gid={3a0eeeae-68d6-42ee-b6e4-b453718e4edc}&GroupName=Ignition+Upgrades&pname=57-74+1x4+Ignitor+III+Electronic+Ignition&Referer=&Alias=&ptct=SGR-SR&CTitle=&)

The Corvette came with the worlds first ECU in an production car in the 1980 Kalifornia Corvette and all the 1981 corvettes had them. I`m guessing most "normal" cars had them before 1990.

Yeah i wish they will update the game so we can change gear ratios again, but atleast you can change top speed which is kinda the same. :ouch:

I still don't understand why they took the ability to change the gear ratios out.
