If it's a European car I go to level 22 A spec - European series and test at the tracks there (Rome, Deep Forest and Monza), that earns me 300,000 credits.
If it's a non European car I go to Level 19 Polyphoy Digital cup and test at the tracks there (Madrid, Trail Mountain and Grand Valley), that also earns me 300,000 credits.
If it's a Le Mans race car I'll go to level 24 Dream Car Championship (Indy, Monza, Tokyo, Sarthe and Nurburgring), that pays 750,000 credits.
This way I get paid to do my testing
It's not perfect, but for a preliminary test of a new car, it's OK for seeing how it performs and finding out how it handles etc.
