What japanese car should i buy for under $10,000?

Never heard of an extreme before? Guess that was something Chevy did before I bought my Blazer. I drive an Xtreme though. Trust me most Xtreme owners get pissed when its spelled wrong. It would be like me saying a Scooby STi whould be a ST.

Also I didn't buy a Xtreme for the ground effects.

Gil knows a lot about me, he pretty much answered everything said against me. I used to work at a garage, and I'm soon to be getting a job at another one. I saw many many many problem cars that came through the shop, 1st gen Eclipse/Talon/Laser had many problems. Even a buddy of mine has a 92 or 93 and he says its slow as hell but he loves to drive it. Plus working on those cars were a b!tch. I never liked them all that well.

Meh it was good car, but to many tickets and to many "I'll kill you ricer" threts. So hey all good things come to an end. It still boggles my mind about all the money I wasted though. Oh well. and WHAT WAS I THINKING WITH THAT WING???? Oh well, like I said its gone, it was totaled by the guy who bought her.

Thats why I departed with my Eclipse, plus you try to pay insurence on that with a horrible driving reacord.

It was because it was heavier than a standard Blazer but had the same power output, right? Seriously, you should've had a Jimmy. Talk about a sleeper!

the reason I bought the Xtreme was due to the fact that I wanted a lower truck with a warrenty and one that could tow something. Also the Xtremes don't come with that damn roof rack.

I never really ment for the truck to be fast, but I had to do a little bit to the motor just for towing sake.

I didn't look at Jimmys because they didn't have a lower one. Hey I gotta be differnet and buy something lower thats ment to be a high riding off road vechile.
 
not to mention that the chicks dig the Xtreme. Come on if it not ment to pick up chicks then whats the point?

You really should've purchased a GMC Typhoon.

Nevertheless, chicks also dig the 1995 BMW 540i, which would've been about half expensive negating the value of a warranty. I'm not sure how often you tow, but hasn't your dad got an Avalanche? That solves that.
 
My dad bought the Lanche after I got my Blazer. I usally do constrution work and I tow trailers with tools and other sorts in it. I have been know to tow drywall to, that sucked until I put a little more power. Also I have two dirt bikes, a snowmobile, and two jet skis that I tow. Along with our boat so I need something that tows.

I looked all over for a Typhoon but the only one I could find was at 120,000 miles and had a blowen turbo along with body damage. I didn't want a ton of problems.

Yes chicks would dig a Bimmer but the chicks around here like the truck guys. Plus I didn't want to get a "girlfriend" go over to her house and have her dad kill me because I didn't drive something American. This is Detroit, the place were they hang you if your driving a non Domestic.

Most educated people think that Chevy is moronic for spelling it Xtreme.

I'm voting the word "extreme" in all its forms off the island. Put it in the vault with a 10-year time lock on it.
 
I hate the word "Underground" at the moment.

What the hell is so "Underground" about painting your car fluorescent yellow and making flames come out of the exhaust (NFS:U)? What is it that makes skateboarding so "Underground" (TH: U)? Underground is a mass-transit system in London, numbnutses.

Still, it's cool, isn't it? It wasn't rated for towing, but it had something crazy like 285bhp. They even had a high-performance GMC Sonoma called the Syclone with the same engine. Totally kickass, though I'm not surprised they were cancelled. Where the hell is the market for that kind of thing (with enough money to buy one new)?

turbocharged and intercooled 283 hp stock, and all wheel drive, 0-60 in 5.3. The Syclone had its problems with traction since no weight in rear end. So I don't think they were as popular. But the Typhoons were popular, there great little trucks. I've driven a bud of mines.
 
If I had as much money as Doug, I'd definitely get a Typhoon and refurbish it to play with. If you brake-torque those things at the start, you can be on boost when the tree drops, and with AWD they leave the line like a ball bearing out of a slingshot.
 
Man I was reading this thread and looking at what you guys are paying for insurance and I nearly choked! I thought I has it bad when I still lived in the states then here in New Zealand !!

That's not bad. I'm on £550pa for a £6,000 MX-3 V6 (at 26 with one accident). But add on 10 years of insurance price hikes and you'd be looking at nearly £1000 today for your Vette. Although you could get it on classic car insurance and a limited mileage policy.

Doubt it. I've got an excellant driving record in the states. 17 years without an accident or ticket plus I would have still owned my own house. If anything it would have stayed the same possibily gone down. Insurance in the state of Illinois is manditory and there are so many to choose from. Rates for good clients are kept at a min, especially if you have been with them a long time.
