What keeps away from GT5 all the really fast drivers?

I've found iracing way to serious and expensive.
But rFactor is proper fun
 
I usually get joined to lobbies where people drive dirty to get in the lead and you can't catch up even when it's a "clean" lobby. So they like the X1 for the next race.
 
I think many have turned away from lag ridden GT5 and started playing iracing, myself included. GT5p was a lot more fun with 10 tracks and 70 cars because of the great competition.
 
rfactor is a much cheaper and more fun version of iracing pretty much.
the community isnt as serious and there are cruising lobbies. ive never noticed anyone in iracing just cruising

GT5 is for people who live with their parents(kids, teens)
rFactor is for those on a budget:ouch:
 
I would also say that most serious and fast racers are in iRacing or rFactor. In addition to the lack of leaderboards the sim aspects in GT5 are bit lacking especially when using race cars if compared to PC sims.

It isn't a game. What it is, is a simulator. And probably the only true, commercially available simulator on the market. If you're looking for a 'game' iRacing isn't for you.

But you're right, it isn't cheap.

I tell you, you are wrong. I have searched everything. Its much lower competition than what i expect with comperison to GT5 Prologue. But nobody answering my question, everybody try to tell me that i slower than i think.👎

I just raced with him and Lapierre4 came along. First he ran some laps for WSGTC and went two tenths faster than the NSX's current best time I've seen. 1:44.5xx on racing hards in the Motul GT-R @ 610 PP. Insane. he was on the absolute limit the whole lap.

Then the race came in the form of Audi R8s from the rec. garage on Monaco. He just walked and walked. Glad I could see it for myself.

Now I'm willing to pay to see him race Tony1311. That would be an intense supernova of a contest.

Wardez is no joke. He says a guy is fast. He's fast!

That time for this weeks race is AMAZING.
 
I see that you are GTP WRS div 1 bronze ,this tells me that yes you are pretty quick but there are a lot of people that are faster so maybe you should try and get into the rooms with the div 1 gold players .👍
 
Happy to race with you mate. I agree with you that the fast drivers are few and far between and pretty much impossible to just "run into" in a public lobby.

Even in a league its not easy at all to get a good field together at the top level. The problem is most fast guys are in Iracing these days and there is little to no reason for them to play GT5 and the few that do are in all different time zones (Australia, Europe, USA)

But if you want to have a good race I'm more than happy to show up with a combo and try to challenge you, Having raced with a lot of fast guys here I think I could provide you with some competition.

Impressive run in your qualifier for WSGTC.

You definitely are fast!!! Got your replay saved and gonna decipher it later. I'm about 1.5 secs off.
 
Really fast drivers are in WRS or in leagues/organised racing.
You aren't going to find them in free lobby.
Also, many fast people don't play online due to physics.

I hope you get a chance to race in WSGTC tonight. You're pace is great and I know for sure it's going to be a nice battle. Especially the rain plays a big role in this race.

Also looking forward to battle you in WRS. Congrats on the D1 placement. It's for real now.;)
 
HM, i question this guy SuperSic. I drive with yellowhat GT-R 610pp and Racing Hards on monza 1:44.575 and i only use DS3 controller.
I have a wheel and i know for sure i am always 1 sec faster with the wheel. So i doubt this guy is extremely fast. he is fast for sure. But not extreme.

I am sorry but he is not a Alien yet. I know people thats way faster than this guy. But i would happy challenge him :D See how much faster he is to my DS3.
 
He is WRS D1 Bronze. If it's not alien it's close. He's yet to compete though.

I have checked it. Very few people are really fast. I also try the WRS time trials. 1-2 guys are fast but thats all. I dont want to sound egoistic but i think most good drivers prefer other games. In gt5 prologue it was better competition. So i ask why you think?

It's possible he qualified a little below his skill. He may have also been following when some of aliens were in hiding. You have to be fast to qualify D1 though.

The statement of only 1-2 drivers being fast in the WRS does not hold true though. There are many more than that.

I know that, that isn't what I said. I'm saying if he was following the splits board and only saw one or two fast people then he was following when the aliens were taking a week off. But really everyone in WRS is fast, we're just not all alien fast.
 
This has been a really interesting thread. To the OP, and anyone else described as 'alien', my advice would be to do whatever you can to get into a real car on a real race track. Is there club racing available where you are? For most of us, club racing would be a real expensive hobby, but anyone with real talent would get picked up by a sponsor quick.

If I was that good, I would be spending my free time at the nearest race track, taking classes and trying to get any ride I could on the track to get noticed.
