What keeps away from GT5 all the really fast drivers?

I know that, that isn't what I said. I'm saying if he was following the splits board and only saw one or two fast people then he was following when the aliens were taking a week off. But really everyone in WRS is fast, we're just not all alien fast.

This has been a really interesting thread. To the OP, and anyone else described as 'alien', my advice would be to do whatever you can to get into a real car on a real race track. Is there club racing available where you are? For most of us, club racing would be a real expensive hobby, but anyone with real talent would get picked up by a sponsor quick.

If I was that good, I would be spending my free time at the nearest race track, taking classes and trying to get any ride I could on the track to get noticed.

This. The really really fast guys should try out racing for real. The ones who got to the finals of GT Academy should try and do it for real. It is really expensive though and I don't know but I guess not every fast driver in GT5 is super fit. Maybe people are waiting for another GT Academy as that is the cheapest way into motor racing and getting recognised straight away.
 
Seeing how this thread is now, i should be unhappy, because everyone discuss if i fast or not, and not the question i had. But i am very happy, because these last days i raced with a lot of people who want to see how fast i am. Some were bad, some ok, and i race with 2-3 guys who where really good.

There are many fast drivers on GT5. It is not in the millions though but in the hundreds. It is the same with other games, even on PC. GT Academy is tough competition though so you missed out on that. The Lacombe brothers are seriously alien fast. There are quite a few as fast as them. If you put all the top GT5 drivers on a list, there is at least a good 150 that are seriously fast.

Considering the game sold millions, it is unlikely you will see many super fast drivers in public lobbies and as you said you already found 2-3 who are are really good already on this forum. This is the place to find the fast drivers to race, not just hope to find people fast randomly.
 
I don't think the net code, or indeed the array of host options, is quite good enough for it to be considered a serious enough sim for the pc brigade to care enough about.

It's the biggest let down for me, really. I've never been impressed by the online experience, and as such I've committed very little time to it, but perhaps I've just been spoilt by pc sims in the past.

I thought GT5p was actually alot easier. I'd win 15-20 races in a row no problem. Now it's much more difficult (if you get in the right room's that is).

Been following this thread regularly. Recognized that u r without doubt very very fast. It takes courage to imply there's no fast drivers in gt5. Is there any challenger who beats u as yet? I see only one div 1 gold speaking up. Also seems like, with all due respect, wardez n his friend did not come close to ur speed.

I ,for one, belongs to the bad so I m no competition I look forward to hear if there's anyone who can consistently beat u on this forum. Else u r probably right.

Only one that gave me trouble so far was GTP_DHolland, and he said i was the fastest driver he ever came across.:)

I have raced quite a lot of Div 1 gold drivers myself including Dan Holland. The quickest driver I ever came across and the only driver I wasnt able to beat (with the others some races I won, some they did) was Ti-Tech85, French winner of one of the academies. He was crazy.

One thing I will add is some drivers are faster in WRS / Hotlapping then they are in an actual race and others arnt as fast in a Hotlap but are really quick in a race. But if your racing Division 1 Silver, Gold drivers then 90% of the time they will be very quick.

That is Dan himself driving and he is one of the fastest drivers in any condition, track or car.

So the question is have you recently started playing GT5 and come from a PC sim or just new and alien quick?

I see that you are GTP WRS div 1 bronze ,this tells me that yes you are pretty quick but there are a lot of people that are faster so maybe you should try and get into the rooms with the div 1 gold players .👍

He's a hell of a lot faster than me. Original WRS placement can be deceiving, he may not be a Nurb fanatic or thought his time was "good enough".

HM, i question this guy SuperSic. I drive with yellowhat GT-R 610pp and Racing Hards on monza 1:44.575 and i only use DS3 controller.
I have a wheel and i know for sure i am always 1 sec faster with the wheel. So i doubt this guy is extremely fast. he is fast for sure. But not extreme.

I am sorry but he is not a Alien yet. I know people thats way faster than this guy. But i would happy challenge him :D See how much faster he is to my DS3.

Must have been offline, I'll have to ask for proof of mid 1:43's online at Monza with his car at race/qualifying spec.
I'm fast enough to know better.

That's about as good a compliment as you can get. You have to understand many people reading this disregard 90% of the thread, assuming there's no content in it without looking.

Hope to see your front bumper next week at Indy. :lol:
 
The following one from Wardez only had one name in it - and I think we're plenty done enough stroking tony's ego.
