Hey guys, I'm new to drag racing, but hope to be doing to this as well as I can as to not be one of those asshats who you find all over GT5.

Anyways, my gt-r black edition loses quite a bit, but on the 1/4 mile speedtest I am running:

8.934 1/4
1.804 0-60

Are these numbers considered good? Am I just sleeping at the tree? I get pulled somehow by the time I'm at the shadow.

Thanks guys.:)

its a decent time dude well done :) just play with you 2nd,3rd gear to get that 0-60 quicker, try and aim for 1.77x

good luck

Keep tuning cause your not that far off. I got mine to hit 8.915 Pre 2.08 and now about 8.918.

8.90s are still possible with this car are you using automatic so far mins run 8.916 and gt academy 8.915

Thanks guys, I guess I'm just racing some really good people haha.

I run automatic, just for consistency. I know it's not perfect but results in a close to the same time every run.

Also, I sometimes win by a nose, but they still claim to have won. Are they liars or just my connection? I have quick download/upload but high-ish ping.

Really? I thought that was where you tune, then indy where you compete. Right? I mean, a fast car at ssrx should be fast at indy, right?

We need a real 1/4 mile track just like GT4 had.

You are correct

There are tricks to get better times at ssrx that would be impossible / unbeneficial at indy. I'm assuming that what he is referring to. But at the end of the day ssrx is still the best way to tune

Also, running in automatic makes the black edition about .003 slower

@ Alexispic: I think that there's an illusion when you think you won by a fender, look at the player list on right of screen when racing, I've been what looks like half a car ahead but I'm really not as the guy I'm racing still has his name above mine, when you get ahead of him your name will appear above his. On the start line though it seems to be pretty even though at the point the names switch....seems weird.

Also cars that have tunes that rely more on top end pull are at a disadvantage at Indy because you loose around 30 meters distance off the top end....Indy is shorter by a significant amount. Cars that are tuned to perform better during the first 3/4 of ssrx have the advantage...hence the term "Indy tune". Probably makes a 1/4 - 1/2 of a fender difference in my estimation but still the difference between win and loss.

WOW! Even with srf on, tcs on, abs on, driving line on and mild steering assist on, 8.871 for the gtr black ed is impossibru!

Take the traction control off and everything else except srf and see what you get, think traction control is counter productive.

bwahahaha @ PTK.... now on to the post.

do you hold the gas for the whole time or do you let off and on? try getting on the gas right as "2" comes up, and it should be the best launch. this being due to the fact your rpms bounce before you launch, and once it hits "2" and you rev it, for some reason it always seems to bounce correctly.

Mikey... Went right over your head.

also to help time at ssrx but not indy use the RA function. You can change the torque split as your driving. After take off you can change it to 10-90. Only helps at ssrx from what i noticed.

LMAO, yeahh.. I'm sooooo jealous of that time bro... maybe if I turned on SRF..?

Right. To believe a time like that with no aids I would have to be at that persons house sitting on their couch and watch them do it.

You know that the only way to avoid e-cheaters and srf'ers are to allow them to do it and might as well do it yourself. Otherwise these threads with a random GTR running .100 faster than the top time will pop up everywhere...

Or block SRF in rooms.

But you cannot block Echeat. Leveling the playing field is the only way to be sure of the times people make. I mean honestly, launching in 2nd or 3rd in some cases and riding the limiter until 60mph is nowhere NEAR realistic so why do that when SRF isn't realistic anyway?
