SwiftCheck this thread out, then come back and ask. There are others as well.
And please, please. Dont' use different tires in the front and the rear.Especially when you're beginning. It'll be a crutch and a handicap.
Just put sims on a stock silvia. Get and LSD and go for it. once you can control sims, the rest is cake(I'm still working on controlling the sims!![]()
KremithefrogIt really depends on the car, mods, and what kinda drifting you like to do. I sometimes just through T8s on the front and slicks on the rear of a RWD car and turn ASM off and have fun. On my zz2, as it's really for races I use T8s but can easily drift with using the ebrake. You have to try different tires out and if you spin out, generally you need softer tires. I use different tires on front/rear of my cobra, which I can drift very very well without any trouble. Remember, you have to have some traction in the front so you can keep the car going where you want, and you of course don't want much traction in the rear or your drift will suck.
KremithefrogTrust me, my cobra is very easy to control with different tires. Though yes it takes suspension tuning too. I guess you can go either way, tune the suspension to get the back end out or tune the tires. Well of course you'll have to tune both either way you go. But with mixed tires, you can get more control as it can take more traction from the back while you tune the suspension to keep the whole car balanced. Though like I said, it really depends on the car, etc. Some cars I drift with T8s all around, it just depends.
KremithefrogWell I'm like the only one of my friends rite now that drifts GT3. I think maybe some of them will come around one day and start. Until then, my way is fine right now and will probably be good for a while after that. I really think my cobra is setup fine though some of my other cars probably could benefit from same tires all around (like my silvia).
KremithefrogCool, I'm gonna keep doing what I'm doing.![]()
Nope, is there really a need too?SwiftGuess he doesn't want to get too much better?![]()
