I played GT5 to death, and just now that i'm getting tired of it i think: "oh, awesome GT6 came out! Just in time!"
But seeing it, well, it seems to me that there's not real updates to it that would make me think it's a different experience.
What did GT6 have that made the trick for you?
What makes this game "another game" instead of the same one remixed?
Tell me what made you buy or not buy this game.
Thanks :D

What made me buy this game.........

It's Gran Turismo 6 !!!!

Simple as that. I've got every Gran Turismo. Maybe I'm addicted....... :scared:

Steve
i know your feeling, sometimes being a fan is enough to make you buy it, but sadly is not enough for me this time, so i wanted some obviously different things that made me go "yay i'm happy with spending 60 euros on a -different- game" :D

I'm beginning to appreciate the physics model more, GT6 shows that GT5 had it's flaws, though not all of them are fixed yet. It's a bit closer to PC sims now.

Also, the much quicker load times are worth it if you spend a lot of gaming time on GT. You can boot the PS3 from cold and be playing on GT6 in about a minute or so.

Having multiple ghost lines of your friend's License tests and Time trials is a nice touch too.

Yeah sometimes I feel that too.
But heck, it's only 60 usd for:

♥ 100+ new cars
♥ new physics (still buggy though) but overall I like the new tire physics, not I can feel it really touches the road, unlike in GT5 where it feels like flying/hovering/floating around
♥ lots of new tracks
♥ IMPROVED LOADING TIME, this is really worth the money. now I can really play instead of waiting like it was in GT5.

The different options in Aero tuning are pretty cool. And though I don't have it yet, would assume having Nitro could be fun.

Ok been thinking about this for a while.......

Good.....

Graphics are better with cars showing slight damage and scuffed paintwork

Physics model is definitely better

Sound is improved

Loading times are better

Menus are better

Bad.......

Graphics are still glitchy in places

Engine sounds are inconsistent to the point of being non-existent at times

The worst thing in my opinion though is that the game LETS you win!!!!! and it doesn't do it subtly either it is so obvious as to spoil the game at times.

Is it better than GT5 yes.........is it the best GT game no.

Steve

GT6 is GT5 improved. That is what makes it a new game. May I suggest you pass it by? You seem a little negative towards it with the way you asked of it. I would hate for you, like so many others it seems, to be really disappointed by Polyphony's latest effort.

No the jump from GT5 to 6 isn't as great as from 4 to 5.
No it doesn't look like a PS4 or XB1 game.

They reached very high on PS3 and after a long time have delivered. Think GT5 with adaptive tessellation, improved lighting, new driving physics - the main point of playing a Gran Turismo title, improved navigation through menu screens, and generally cleaned up. I love it, and expect to be very impressed with GT7, or even GT6 ported with improvements to the PS4.

You have access to the Web, and GT Planet. Is it really possible for you to be ignorant of what improvements have been made? If you are a fan of the series then this is the best. Looks great, plays great (any issues will get sorted).
But then again you say you have seen it?
It is GT, the same, but improved..... or not.

Veterans and skilled drivers will find it a tad boring in A-Spec, but you have online. And If the Track Editor lives up to expectations then that could be the defining point of GT6

I feel that these racing game have reached (or close to it) their saturation points, what "new" features are there really to add? There are a few "minor" additions to add but overall all they can really do is upgrade and keep the game pushing it's limits.

I do however, find that GT6 is a big step up from 5 - driving wise mainly. I actually had my buddy that hates racing games say, "wow, this actually feels good". He's played 5 for like a month and it collected dust (couldn't get past the flat driving), now he's been at my house four times in the past week, just to hoard on my game .

I would say, after finally getting my hands on it this week, I am thoroughly impressed by the latest installment of the Gran Turismo Series. Although I don't feel too much of a difference between physics of GT5 and GT6 (I know there is improvement; I just don't feel any), the suspension model has been improved significantly. Now you can actually see the body roll of a car when turning. In addition to that, the tire smoke has been improved too. I don't see the dreadful jaggies that I were so accustomed to seeing in GT5. I do think that they worked on the sounds too. I was watching a replay of the Boss 302. When the car drove by, it had low V8 rumble. It's hard to explain it but I was impressed by that. The one thing that I was very impressed by was the UI. It is so much easier to navigate through the menus. Also, the loading times are much better. Some of the standard cars are looking like they are premium while have not been touched.

Even with all those improvements, I have two criticisms. The first one isn't PD fault but driving on Willow Springs at night is 🤬 suicide. I couldn't see a 🤬 thing. I drove off the map at least 10 times. One of those times, I hit a jump in the sand and went flying through the air which I have to admit was quite funny. The other issue I have with the game is the stupid tire squealing when you go into a turn. It gets on my nerves. These are small issues I have with the game.

Overall I have to rate this game a 9/10.

the only reason i bought this one was because i thought that after another 3 years polyphony would finally get the vtec sound right..but it still didnt happen.i use the civic and integra type r for as many races as i can in every gt and for a Japanese company not to be getting japanese car sounds right after 15 years is just sad..

All I want to say on this matter is this...

You don't get these kind of threads on the FIFA or COD forums, and they're pretty much the same game year in, year out, and yet sell by the bucket load without fail!

Guess racers are just more picky when it comes to their games!

But all the (football) players/squaddies have new haircuts and tattoos and all that really cool sh:censored:t!

I have to say that, although I am pleased with the improvements, I'm really disappointed by all the features that have been removed.

  • Where did all the photo locations go?
  • Why is GT Auto so much worse than before? Just how dirty is my oil?? What happened to all the animations?
  • Where is the speed test area?
  • What happened to the community tab that was in GT5 and version 1.0?
If this was GT5.5, then we should have at least kept the features that are already complete. It's more like a GT7 prologue.

It's new cause it says 6. One numeral bigger, better!

The physics. Cars move and fight you.
Tires that do not grip like glue.

Other than that. It is the same old GT game. Slow AI, short races, and blender sounds for engines. But it wouldn't be a GT game without that.
