i use windows media player mostly but i use winamp sometimes its easier to use and plays every single file (almost) there is Unlike windows media which doesnt play much.

WinAmp strictly for music not to mention record streaming music straight to .mp3 format

Sometime if I have to WMP, if it's .WMA then all the time, but I don't used that format unless I have to.

I used to use BS Player a lot instead of WMP but for some reason it doesn't play video that well anymore. :grumpy:

My last resort for vids is VLC Player because about 80% of the time it will most likely play the vid even if the file is bad to a point.

WinAmp for everything...why? Because it really whips the llamas ass . Wow that was bad.

I just can't believe it's made by the people that made AoHell. :grumpy:

The people who made it just got bought out by aol. It's still the same dev team from llamasoft working on it.

I use Winamp5, classic skin only, audio only and no media library. I did use foobar foro a while, but it's a pain in the arse to configure, doesn't have the same plugins that I use on winamp and it hasn't been updated for ages.

I use media player classic for video.

Actually, the new foobar 0.9 is in beta testing at the moment. Beta 10 is publically available here.

Winamp is nice, but it's playlist handling sucks arse.

I know about the beta version, maybe when they manage to get release version i'll try it again. But there are a few plugins that just don't exsist for foobar which means i'll always have to have winamp installed.

Awesome Shannon, I've been looking for an update to come for some time now 👍. Do you know what changes have been made?

iTunes for music, Quicktime for movies. Works the best for me since I have a Windows machine and a Mac. 👍

iTunes, for 3 reasons:

1) iPod. I mostly use my iPod to provide music while I'm driving. In GT4.
2) sharing. Lots of guys in my office use iTunes, and it's really easy to share music via iTunes without setting up a separate MP3 server (which is a corporate liability).
3) Cross-platform on the 2 platforms I use. I don't use a linux box as a desktop system, only for shell development, so I don't need a media player there.

I voted WinAmp.

However, I use Windows Media Player mainly for videos.

Over the last few months, a bunch of the radio stations in town have changed format. The two that we were listening to at work suck now. Now we listen to mp3's or mostly SHOUTcast through Winamp.

I've been using Winamp since 1998

I've tried WMP and iTunes and always go back to Winamp.

I used to use Winamp back in the day, but I convertered to Foobar2000. Soo much better.

Video player is Media Plaer classic. With all necessary codecs, of course.

Winamp. I like the option of customizing your skins, downloading new visuals easily, and has a fully functional EQ. Plus its whats i've used since 1996, so why change now!?

Was a WinAmp user until I picked up an iPod a few months ago. Now it just makes sense to stick to iTunes. I like how easily it can sort things; what I don't like is the amount of resources it sucks up.
