Just bought V for Vendetta today, haven't watched it yet...

Big film fan like yourself didn't have Bourne Identity in your library? :D One of the best action film of all-time in my book. It was a hit, and I still think it's underrated!

yes I had the VCD of both films, but decided it was time to actually buy them as I only payed £12 for both, so it wasnt a bad deal. I agree with you about them being underated, and I cant wait for the third film to hit the cinema. A definate recomend for action junkies and spy fans alike. better than "Bond" or "MI" anyway.

Quiz show arrived today, I just watched it, great film.

And I agree with the Bourne comments, it's a better film than the James Bond or Mission Impossible movies.

New copies I bought couple of weeks ago:
"Event Horizon" - This is the new one, widescreen enhanced and with extra features.

Extra features like... having a good film on the disc instead?

You didn't like it? I thought it was pretty good. I did really like the SFX and Laurence Fishburne. Event Horizon was the first movie I was really impressed with Larry Fishburne. Oh, and I'm a sucker for science fiction and horror, good or bad, so there you go. :D
It doubles as a coaster.
Yes. Thank you for that.

I totally agree with you on this, me and a friend of mine absolutly love "Event Horizon" It made me feel a little sick when they unscramble that message from the old crew, if you watch that bit frame by frame or in slow mo, you can see what is going on, its pretty sick and twisted :D

Event Horizon is a great film!

And just to be different, what the hell is so good about the Maaaaaaat Daaamoooon Supremacy/Identity?? They both suck royally (2 is slightly better). Matt Damon is the worst "action" actor i've ever seen.
And a film cannot be under-rated if (nearly) everyone on the planet likes it.

I dont' care for Supremacy as much as I do Bourne Identity. To me, "Identity" is a near-perfect film. Action, acting, plot, cinematography, direction, cast, you name it, IMO, damn near perfect. And Matt Damon proved to me that he is a great actor with this film. He is about 23.4 billion times better actor than his buddy, Ben Affleck.

Underrated as in, IMO, it should be right up there with all the classics like the first Matrix, etc. I think it is one of the best action movies in the history of action movies.

Maaaaat Daaaaamoooon is a good actor, i don't deny that. But he is truelly laughable trying to do action, especially the martial arts bits. In Identity it's even clearly speeded up sometimes.

Identity 4/10
Supremacy 6/10

I also think when the 3rd one comes out, alot of people won't be able to take him seriously after Team America. Whenever i see his name pop up in a trailer, i (& whoever happens to be in the room) start laughing.

Watched 2 very good films recently:
Serenity - even better than i remember'd, i think it helps after seeing Firefly. (Kept going wrong though, stupid DVD player). 8/10
Eight Below - OK, this may not be that good a film, but i loved it. I love all films about dogs, i even liked the K9 sequels. Plus there usually the only films that can make me cry. 8/10

I thought he was so good in hand-to-hand combat, he put most other action stars in shame.

Sounds like a personal problem. :D j/k

Serenity is great. I recently bought it used, on DVD. I gotta rent "Eight Below" sometime. It's supposed to be a based on a Japanese movie that was popular when I was like 10(!), which in turn was based on a true story. Plus, I like Paul Walker. I think he is so Keanu Reeves.

Bought Twelve Monkeys fairly recently and I really like it. Good performances from Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt and Madeliene Stowe and well directed.

The documentary on that DVD is one of the best of the kind I've seen. Good stuff. Also, the move is one of my favorite of all time. I'm not a Monty Python fan, so as far as Gilliams' films go, I consider "Twelve Monkeys" his best film. I like it even more than Brazil.

I don't think its a personal thing. Am sure if i like the film i'll ignore the "Maaaat Daaaamooon" thing, but whenever i here the words "Matt Damon" being spoken on a trailer or whatever, i just start laughing. So does my mum.
And it happened many times in the cinema as well, you can just here little s******s & people quietly going Maaaat "Daaaaamon".

He looks ok doing the "martial arts" in Supremacy, but thats mainly because the action is so close up you can't tell whats going on. And you have to admit he looks totally stupid when he's running on the beach!
I think it's when you see actors who clearly cant fight that it really bugs me. Like in Charlies Angels, Lucy Liu looks good, but Drew Barrymore is embarasing.

Got & Started to watch Season 3 of Spooks, its by far the worst of the 4. It just seems really predictable. But its still the best thing (not) on TV. Cant wait for Season 5, the end of 4 was seriously good!

Just picked up "Italian Job" in a little box with both the old and the new version + 2 hours of extra material I doubt I'll ever watch...

Just picked up that Spike Lee Joint a couple of days ago, Inside Man.
Jodie Foster is , er, well . . . her character is sumthing else in this movie.

By Any Mean Necessary.

Ive been at it again today, and got myself something that I didnt think was released over in the UK.

1. Clerks X - 3 disk special edition for £8
2. Sideways
3. Tin Cup

Hmm.. Just returned from a little grocery shopping - Spotted a movie with Matthew Lillard and Seth Green called "Without a Paddle" which I had NEVER heard of before. Now I've been a huge fan of M. Lillard since Scream, so I had to pick it up. So there - One more for the shelf..

Bought Sin City the other week for a fiver - not watched it yet though.

Excellent choice - Very funny and very underrated movie IMHO !....

B.O.T

Yeh I loved it when I firts saw it, plus I like golf and Costner and Rene Russo.

"Without a Paddle" Ive got that too, not too bad, but definatly not and amaizing movie, funny in parts, but can get a little boreing. still worth watching and lends its self to a re-watch now and again.

Finally picked up Escape From New York SE for..... free! ok i used a voucher, it was £6.
And i got a Tiff Needel dvd, 20 cars that changed the world.

Yesterday I bought "Rat Race" and "Dude, Where's My Car?". Both were pretty ok (for laughs) but Rat Race made me laugh extremely hard in many places. 👍

Picked up the 4 Disc special for Scary Movie 1 - 4. Kinda cool metal case, and comes with all 4 movies from the series. Some extra bonus material on all 4 discs, but other then that its basically just all 4 movies. Not a bad deal for $40 bucks if you like to laugh at stupidily retarded stuff like me.

Wow, I may have to pick that up one day 👍. (Although Scary Movie 4 is no where near as good as the others.)

Just got used copy of "The Twilight Zone Vol. 2" for five bucks. This one has two of my favorite episodes:

Time Enough At Last - Where the bookworm survives a nuclear war. He's happy that now he has all the time in the world to read books, then steps on his glasses(he's got severely bad eyesight).

The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street - In this one, I think the residents of somewhat isolated suburb panics over a power outage or something. I think they started suspecting alien or communist invasion and start freaking out, attacking each other.:lol:

It also features that famous episode which a plane passenger sees a gremlin on the wing of the plane.

Now I just need that one, where old woman is living alone in a cabin. These little aliens start invading her home with high tech gadgets. She fights them off, killing the little invaders. As you are kind of glad that she successfully smash these little aliens, a close up to their flying saucer shows NASA or something painted on it. Those old school Twilight Zones are so awesome. :D

I couldn't find it on Amazon. Are you outside the US?

He's from Canada. But Canadian DVDs will still be Region 1.

There were people importing the "Trainspotting" DVDs from Canada for a long time, when the U.S. only got the barebone DVD with no anamorphic widescreen.
