Apparently the Z was parked sideways, taking up two spots. Nobody except the Altima driver has any idea why they wanted the parking space so bad, but the Altima hit the Z at 30-35 mph. That hit pushed the Z's right wheels against the curb, wedging it between the curb and Altima, and because of that the Z popped up and the Altima ran underneath it, throwing the Z off to the side as it's sitting in the pictures. We're not sure why only one side airbag went off, because in a typical crash all the bags go off at once, no matter where the hit occurs. John thinks that the A pillar was impacted and somehow that force set the airbag off.
I'm sure all of you think that's highly unlikely, and it's made even harder to believe by the fact that we can't see the driver's side damage of the Z in these pictures. Believe what you want, but this is not a case of an idiot driver. This is a case of the other driver being the idiot and taking out a rare car. The owner simply didn't want any chance of anyone banging their door on his car, and this is what he got in return.
EDIT: Upon further examination I've noticed the tree behind the Z is pushed backward. That's evidence enough to burst your flying-over-the-curb bubble. You all should be ashamed. Have some sympathy for a fellow enthusiast. That is, if you are actually car enthusiasts.
