For me it's chasing after a car that's hard to catch up to. Then finally tailing it. Makes me feel like I'm in one of those races on TV..

Chasing the lead car for 90% of the Nurburgring nearly attatched to their rear bumper and finaly putting so much pressure on them that they spin, usualy just after the dip heading into the tight right hander.

I love the chase so very much.
But when I get ahead, I pretend that I'm chasing someone 5 seconds away so I continue to push so the person chasing never catches :D

Being in P1 & getting hunted down by a slightly faster driver towards the end of a race, I always put in my fastest lap times under those conditions, proper heart in mouth stuff!

:)

Often on the Nurburgring, I get under pressure from faster cars on the straights, forcing me to brake ultra-late into the chicane.

Often leads to extremely close finishes at the finish line, doesn't matter whether I won or came second:D

That last chicane.
Bleh, usually catches me out.

It's exacerberated by the fact that I usually drive with ABS Off. If someone's on my tail, I often brake way too hard, thus grassifying myself:ouch:

Although I sometimes do that deliberately, if I was dominating all the other races:sly:

I still use ABS 1 :(

That's okay, I also use ABS off only on Race/RM cars, or any car which doesn't have them IRL.

It's even harder when you're stuck with a conntroller:banghead:

Another part which is really amazing is when you are stuck behind another driver who is somewhat slower than you, only to overtake him on the last second.

I've had that happen twice, once with 0.034 seconds, and one with 0.001 seconds (have a pic of it too):D

Isn't the braking system in GT5 wrong anyways?
And the brakes are way too sensitive, too easy lock ups.

If I get rammed off the track by someone (mostly online), and have to chase him again *coughandgetrevengecough*.

Only if you keep the brake balance at 5:5, I usually keep it at 4:0 for slower cars like the Ferrari F40and 5:1 for race-spec ones;)

You are not the only one, I usually happen to get my fastest laps during this stage (if it ever happens, that it)

The only pressure situations are online. I really anjoy the good battles with different drivers who drive the same speeds as I. I'd say the most fun situations are when you are catching up someone and you really need to push to make it but have no room for error. The same also when someone is catching me and I'm trying to push to control the gap.

In the starts I try to be reasonably aggressive so people behind me do not need to be afraid of getting brake checked but I still try to be predictable during the first turns just to avoid accidents. If I still get punted off the track simply because someone used me as a brake I try to drive twice as hard to still get a good race. I'm not really pumped up at all when the race is starting unless it is a special race like an online league race or so...

I don't really believe in revenge though. Sometimes sitting in a car accidents may feel deliberate even if it was just a freak accident or honest mistake. So I don't take pressure from wrecks.

Winning with a less powered or older or non race/mod car against the latter.
The last lap in a close race.
Knowing your race strategy is going to determine the win.
Room full of clean respectable racing/racers.
Being 1uped by a car older then mine with less or same hp.
Awesome lap times.
Good replay value races.

Tailing someone you've battled back and forth for the lead throughout the whole race and on the final lap coming out of the last turn you dive out of his draft and try to beat him to the line. Just watching how close the finish is on replay gets me psyched regardless who won!

I love it when I'm leading on the last lap, but the car behind is quickly gaining. It literally brings me to the edge of my seat trying to keep them off my tail.

Two cars wreck in front of me and then I navigate between the two of them at full speed :dopey:
Looks AMAZING in the replays to come charging out of a cloud of smoke.

This
and whenever i push the car to get the best time. In a race of course. ;)

NASCAR... going 5 wide outside of the tri-oval, slingshot from 8th to 1st in 2 seconds.

The start and the finish, the rest is just waiting.

trying to stay in first place and also when i lap other drivers (wish they had a flag system on this game tho ) :)

Being more of a rally guy a well executed inertial drift through some tight turns linked to perfection with a ton of dirt and gravel flying behind and beside me eliminating all traces of understeer in the process.
