Will be interesting to see if this carries over to next Saturday's Nations Gr.1 meeting. Saw no problems with the original zone so why it's changed is beyond me.

EDIT: Went for a quick spin in Daily B quali yesterday; the original zone has indeed been put back.

I think this best answer to this penalty zone.

Player - Oh a week of racing Gr 3 at Spa, much better than last week...

PD...Slap the penalty zone there and let's wait for the screams and laugh evily at the online players,

Penalty zones in general are all over the place but that's hilarious  Why did they move it at Spa? The original place was actually one of the better places compared to other tracks.

Yes, I guess Interlagos is OK too but some (most) of the others could be better but none are as bad as this. :boggled:

Not sure why this is the one they have changed, especially to this, unless they are trying to troll.

Interlagos is one of my least favorite I think -- they should put it about 200 meters sooner, then there's space to get around people who are serving the pen before the braking zone.

Anyways, that's kind of hilarious. It'll provide comedy gold this week, especially on GTP.

On a side note, I've always wondered how they decide which tracks get multiple penalty zones. Big Willow is a 1:15-1:30 lap and has two zones. Spa runs 2+ minutes with most cars, and there's a perfect opportunity to have one somewhere in Blanchimont in addition to Kemmel, but there's only one zone.

Looks like they've sorted it out

That's good to hear as I was planning to go racing at Spa this week but at least the footage was captured so it cannot be denied later!

If it's that easy to do I really wish they'd move some others. Tokyo East and Sardegna B immediately spring to mind.

Good that they sorted this one though.

Nordschleife (including Nürburgring 24h) is very bad when it comes to penalty zones. For a such long track, there's only one penalty zone. (La Sarthe has three.)

Fortunately, cars ghost out when serving a penalty, otherwise this would quickly develop into mayhem.

That was hilarious. Players would've been unghosting unsighted at the top of the hill.

Yes, and maybe whilst out of control, no doubt the contacts will have caused more penalties so it can happen again the next lap and so on.

Surely they must be a video out there somewhere of this happening before PD fixed it.

God knows what they were thinking
I did a couple of Spa races last night and thankfully the zone has been moved, because that is insanity.

Isn't lifting there normal though?

[/satire]

Anyway, it was clearly an error that was fixed very quickly.
