Brother in Law bought a new used car. With screens built into the headrests so their coming kid can enjoy movies when on tour.

It's all good, except the crappy Denver DVD player that came with the car, is borked. So I suggested him to get a Portable Media Player instead, with video out of course, So which should he get?..

So far, we've narrowed it down to either the Archos 43 Vision or the Creative Zen X-Fi2 - but, for the Archos, we can't find a specific video out cable, and for the Creative, we've found a review saying that you have to hack the official Creative video out cable to get it to work.

So - what should we choose - Recommendations for other products are welcome. (We're not big fans of Apple ;) )

Might not be big fans of Apple, but can't go wrong with the Ipod classic. Will do video out no problem, can fit in the smallest of places, millions of docks/chargers to choose from, oh and it just works.

You might not be an Apple fan, but they certainly have sold more media players than anyone else for a reason.

Dont get apple, i have one and i hate it. The program they use sucks so badly, all files you will have to convert, and its hard to go back to original formats. Go with ARCHOS, maybe wait for new Sony MP3 player with video outputs.
The best portalble medias are the ones that do not require any software to transfer music, music and pictures. As well why not archos 5, its great in size, comes with 500 GB hdd. Its like a portable computer, you can do anything on it.
