What security do you have on your car?

i have an alarm(with a whole bunch of sensors and back up battery), imobiliser, keyless entry, club lock and a armed gaurd:D
 
That sounds complicated. I'd write out the devilishly complex steps on my hand or something if I were you.

HA! I had you fooled, Im already waaaay ahead of you. Heres my list thats on my hand.. It kind of continues up my arm tho..
1. Find keys.
2. Find the right key.
3. Hold onto your nuts as you step outside so you catch them when they freeze and fall off.
4. Find the little black Talon somewhere in the parking lot.
5. Walk to the other side of the car as you realize your on the rong side.
6. Fumble and swear at the lock cylinder as your key doesn't work.
7. Kick your own ass for putting in the ignition key instead of the lock key.
8. Find the lock key.
9. Repeat step number 8.
10. Once the lock key is found, slowly insert key into the lock cylinder located in door handle.
11. Turn the key towards the left.
12. Once realizing the car is Japenese, turn the key towards the right.
13. Open door by pulling up on the handle.
14. Sit inside the car.
15. Close the door.
16. Repeat step number 2.
17. Place ignition key into the ignition cylinder and turn.
18. Watch to make sure all AutoMeter gauges come to life as the car comes to a low roar.
19. Security Process Complete
 
My car has an alarm, immobiliser and deadlocks (doors cannot be opened, even from the inside)
 
The Pontiac and my Neon have nothing, not even central locking. After years of driving a convertible I'm long in the habit of leaving the car unlocked anyway, and nothing of value in it (except in the trunk) because they can always cut a new door in the roof in about 10 seconds.

My wife's Neon has central locking and the van has remote central locking, but that's it. Like vat_man said, the most useless thing on the planet is a car alarm since no one pays them any mind and they're more likely to get your car vandalized if they go off too much. Since most cars are stolen to be stripped, they just tow them away if they want them so an immobilizer doesn't really help either.

No protection execept 3 *ahem* locks. One of them dosent work.

Oh well.


I hoping someone will someone will steal my car soon. I need a new one.
 
To start with, it looks like a Vauxhall Tigra (it isn't, but as long as stupid people think it is, I'm fine).

Then I have a highly visible, fluorescent yellow steering wheel bar. It's not terribly good - but you'd need a good strong arm and some serious cutting tools to get rid of it (or the section of steering wheel it's on) - but it's visible.

Then the car has remote central locking. Attached to this is a Clifford Concept 300 alarm & immobiliser (Thatcham Category 1). There's a little flashy light by the handbrake, and another on the steering wheel. The immobiliser arms after 30s of inactivity - so when you unlock the car, you've got to leap in, remove the steering lock and start the engine inside 30s, or you must rearm the system and disarm it again.

The CD player/equaliser's face is removable, as is the main stereo unit - but this also revolves in place to present a black bit of plastic. I tend to leave that in the car most times.

But the bit where it looks like a Vauxhall Tigra puts most people off... :D
