In your opinion.

"Jumping the shark is a metaphor that was originally used to denote the tipping point at which a TV series is deemed to have passed its peak, or has introduced plot twists that are illogical in terms of everything that has preceded them."

So what TV shows do you think "jumped the shark"?

Interesting subject. Perhaps you could get a mod to move this thread into the 'Movies and TV' thread area where it might get a better response.

For me, Happy Days jumped the shark after the first episode :sly:

I used to love the Sopranos, but it isn't as exciting for me to watch anymore. I feel that many shows that begin new seasons just to keep a lot of viewers are rarely as good as the earlier seasons.

Law & Order passed it's peak after I realized how formulaic it is (2-3 episodes.)

They all do at some point. Your question could be easier answered if it were phrased better.

Me thinks you've just happened upon a new site, and wanted to express your skillz at teh intraweb.

The "Jumped the shark" term comes from "Happy Days" and the turning point of the show. The Fonz ski jumped a shark and the show went downhill from there.

Perhaps you could give an example of what shows your thinking of. Current "on the air" shows, or the half a million that never made it on the air?

You've gone really vauge, and that makes it quite an uninteresting thread.

Perhaps it would have been even easier to simply say "Dudes, check out this website: JumptheShark.com."

As of late, it seems as though The Simpsons are "jumping the shark" with every episode each season. It isn't to say that the show isn't funny anymore (it still is), but they aren't nearly as good as they used to be. Maybe South Park and Family Guy ruined it?

If I can think of one major "jump the shark" moment as of late, it would have been in the finale of the one season of Alias when it was revealed that Jennifer Garner's dude really wasn't who he said he was, and then went all rogue afterwards. It was just silly, and the two seasons afterwards really went downhill. I'm glad ABC put the show out of it's misery, however the series finale wasn't too bad, albeit a bit silly.
