no offense but that was some of the worst, cliche, and shallow electronic music i have ever heard.

luke vibert - comfycozy

ken ishii - ne-o

My buddy got a pre-release copy of In Search of Sunrise 7 by Tiesto and I've been listening to it. It's awesome and I can't wait till my pre-ordered copy arrives in a few weeks when it's released. Very quality Tiesto stuff.

I honestly do have a pre-release copy and not some torrent. You shouldn't even be talking like you downloaded it since it breaks the AUP.

Also the first three ISOS were rather meh, in fact very meh compared to some of his other stuff from around that time. 5 is still the best one by far but 7 is good. Also I'm a bit curious why you say it's just Tiesto when there are remixes by other DJ's on the album. It's not just a collection of his solo stuff.

It's also no surprise Armin is on top, many people have considered him (myself included) better then Tiesto for a long time. Tiesto is still a world class DJ though, much better then a lot of that other crap out there not attempting to be electronica.

It's just Tiesto's mixing, like what he does every week on his radio show, just Tiesto.

I believe there should be many more DJs in between Armin at number 1 and Tiesto.

If Electro comes under the Techno umbrella, then...

Wolfgang Gartner - Montezuma

Alex Gaudino - watch out (Love that video :embarrassed: )
Fedde Le Grande - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit
Ida Corr ft fedde Le Grande - Let Me Think About It

PYHUFD - My most favourite track ever! (There's a rather embarassing video on YT of me dancing to it on a boat!)
LMTAI - Great track too. Always puts a smile on my face when it comes on in the club

Montezuma that I posted ^ sounds a bit like 'Detroit' and there's another Wolfgang Gartner track that has a similar feel to 'Let Me Think about it'. You should check em out if you didn't already.

I shall definitly check them out. I work night shift so I have my mp3 player and it has a mixture on it, but I thoroghly enjoy some techno, mainly those songs while I'm working. Makes it a bit more fun lol

DJ PC - Insomniak (I Come Back)

How did I never hear this before? I imagine it was a early 90's warehouse stormer. Weird.

The new Armin van Buuren cd is excellent. The new Solarstone cd, Rainstars Eternal, is pretty good too.

Are you talking about Imagine? That one is really good, I was pretty impressed with it. I can see how Armin overtook Tiesto as global DJ number 1. He's very fluid and mixes in a wide range of sounds.

Last night I saw Tiesto in concert and it was amazing since it was a really small venue. I can't really hear this morning and I'm slightly hung over but it was fun. With that said I've been listen to his new stuff more and more this morning and last night. ISOS7 is good but not his best by a long shot.

Right now I'm listening to Cary Brothers - Ride (Tiësto Remix) off ISOS7 and it has to be my favourite track by far off the album.

Not techno at all, but it's the song that spawned the entire undergound breakbeat music genre. Possibly the track with the most influence in modern dance music.

Listen until 1.43 when all is revealed...

1969 The Winstons - Amen, brother

Correction: The most sampled 6 seconds of music ever. Without that 6 second breakdown, there would be no drum n bass, hip hop, or possibly even electronica as we know it today.

Am I the only person that actually likes Amen Brother? I think it's a great song.
