ok here is alist of things that should make their way into the game, add on, see whatwe can get :) :
1) Weather
2) Night Drives
3) straight uphill and downhill races (not just rally)
4) i nice in car view (perhaps semi trans so you can see edges of the track still???)
5) and realistic galleries (people on the side lines)

i'm taking alot of this from that new colin mcrae rally game comming out around octiber (i think) if you look for a features video its very nice.

what else do you think should be in there?

Let's see, when you say weather, do you mean like it should rain/snow/hail/whatever on the track? hmmm, that seems hard to render, but I can see how it would be fun, although as long as you could choose to race in such course, and not that it happens sporadically... I can just see myself, sliding in all directions with super-slick tires on the wet tarmac.

What do you mean by night drives, straight up and downhill? Like on the pike's peak, but on road? That would be nice, a course like the jumping part in Seattle but longer and with more curves, eh? Or something like the car chase in Bullitt, in San Francisco.

And the in car view... I remember I used to play a PC game (on a 2 color PC) called Ferrari Drive or some other sort of generic name, and the view was from inside the car, and whenever you changed gears, a small window would open showing the stick shifting... I used to think that was so advanced. Anyhow, that would be nice, but also as an option, like you can have the view from behind the car, from inside, and the most common one from the front bumper.

Lastly, the one about the people on the sidelines. If you detail GT1, 2 and 3 (I haven't played concept), there is little to no presence of people in the game. GT1's presentation only showed feet, and GT3's only shows a thumbs-up, that's because GT has always been about the cars and nothing more, in fact, I guess that's why the graphics of the people on the sidelines in GT3 is so poor. Just focusing all their energy on creating great cars and leaving the rest to be assumed.

The other thing I wish we could have in GT4 is being able to have all or most of the cars in the game in the garage (memory card), not like in GT2 where the game had about 500+ cars but you were only able to keep 100 in your garage.

hmm i forgot about the memory card issues :)
as for weather, yeah you can select it before a race if you want. night drives, as in, drive around at night, with your headlights guiding the way. and as for up uphill and downhill , something like the pikes peaks, only on a mountain pass, you know, and not all hairpins, they get boring after a bit.

Mna they need drift tracks and care from the japanese tuning houses, and rare house specials, that would rock

WHAT??? more attention to japanese stuff??? ow, PHUU-LEEZEE!!
dont you want some 95% of the cars in the game be Japanese cars too?

Cano

I think you do.

oh no... here it comes...another thread about domestic and japanese cars....

Hey U do realise the Japanese cars flog most cars and can keep up with
the supercars even though theyre a fraction of the price.

Addmit defeat, and stop whinging

Depends on what your definition of a supercar is. I know a lot of cars that will flog a japanesse car for fraction of the price where I am. maybe cost you at most 5 grand and it would ruin a supra or a skyline. So, it all depends on your definition here, everyone's is different.

Yeah Right mate

well i mean like in GT2 just before you start a race you have a ton of options, perhaps put a course section there, where you can turn night on or off, weather and such, and even a reverse rase option. (keep in mind i've only ever played GT3 for about 5 min, so i dont know much of it)

I tried playin GT2 just did not measure up at all... Couldn't get past the terrible graphics in the game...

well look at when it was made,,,, but i still argue that people shouldnt like or hate a game because of its graphics.

Thats my opinion, an plays a major role in my deciding whether I rent or buy a game. Had enough lame arse games/graphics when going through the puter games

a magazine put like this: a supercar is any car that can reach 160mph WITHOUT TUNING, and it has to be a 2 door sports car too.

sounds good right?

What do you class as not tuned ?

I think an in game movie editor would be cool. It would never happen, just think it would be cool. Also, I would like to be able to drive on the skid pads from the license tests, so I could just drift in one big circle for a long time, Or even just a big huge open parking lot type thing, so you can do what ever you want.

Eh, what ever, just some things I think would be cool.

The programmers have made sure of that haven't they. I think it is a disgrace that in the British GT Car Cup the AI cars go so slow. And the car specs do not justify it. We all know the programmers have deliberately favored japanese cars. I say we should have a japanese version of the game and other versions finetuned for the region it gets sold in.

I don't want Aussie cars to be quicker than an equivalent Japanese car. I want equality. But what I do want is a wider variety of cars. And no I don't mean 50 more skyline derivatives, unless we are talking the 4wd GTR racing car driven by Mark Skaife about 12 or so years back.

I have also just realised why realistic car damage is not wanted by the Japanese manufacturers.

If they had accurately modelled and totally realistic car damage modeled in the graphics side of things imagine what a Japanese car would look like after an Aston Martin Tankuish had rolled over the top of it.

well im not sayin i dont like Japanese cars, but if i had to choose between a viper/corvette or the equivalent japanese car, i would choose the american

Nah I'm talkin real life here, its a well known fact that the Japanese do it better, they'll spend a whole heap more money designing a car than the Yanks or the Aussies will, and it'll come out better, just go look at the comparisons in "High Performance Imports" A corvette is no match for the equivalent Japanese car, an is usually a hell of alot cheaper too.

Grow up mate, put a Supra (6cyl) up against a V8 (usually) corvette and the chev will get eaten, at half the price and with half the petrol.

dont get me wrong i like Japanese cars

Ford SVT Mustang or Dodge SRT-10 Viper
vs.
Almost any Japanese street car made today

.....well, I know which one I pick.

Bring Back the US Muscle and ditch the 400 versions of cheap Japanese crap.

Perhaps multiple versions of GT4 would be best. Leave the 500 Japaname Supra/Miata/Lancer/Evo clones (notice in GT3 that they all have almost the same exact stats, fun there eh?) for the Japanese market.

Persoanlly, I want my Ford SVT Mustang (with color options this time, I like Black cars), Dodge Stratus R/T Turbo Coupe and Dodge Intrepid R/T (and of course the Dodge Charger R/T Concept).

i think it would be pretty cool if you had aplace where you could take your car and swap colors from a palette, that would be pretty sweet :)

Go to any drag strip, the Japanese 6cyl's are floggin all the Mustangs and Corvettes, and like i said B4 theyre a hell of alot cheaper, faster, fuel efficient and the number of affordable aftermarket parts for them is astounding.
For the price of a Viper you could buy a Supra and turn it into a 9 second weapon.
