What tires are on your ride?

For the summer, I have Falken Azenis RT-615 tires on one set of wheels. 205/50/15. I love them to death.

In the winter, I have Firestone Wnterforce 185/65/14 for the front and some no-name brand tires (same size) on the rear, on the stock steelies. Fun times in the winter, as I can pretty much initiate and drive out of any slide I care to. (Only in parking lots, though.)

The tires are not where you find the correct tire pressures. Recommended pressures differ by car.

Although all tires have a different max pressure..

On the Benzo I have some really bad studless snows, on the rally Rolla some really good Nokian studs, the other Rolla hasn't got any suspension to have any wheels on at all and the Charade is on Nankang NS2s.
Want to pick up a Golf.. 195 on 9s hell yeah :) And when spring comes it's 165s on some 7s I'm refinishing. Gonna be sweet.

What ever you do, NEVER buy a tire from Wal-Mart. Worst quality ever. Had them installed on our '98 Sienna three years ago. 🤬 traction, 🤬 quality. Now we're thinking of getting Goodyear tires.

You are seriously telling people not to buy Wal-Mart branded tires? Isn't that kind of a given?

I don't even buy walmart branded groceries, let alone something important!

The only good thing Wal-Mart has in terms of their automotive section is .... well nothing really. They even broke out Hyundai Accent's oil dipstick tube.

Wal-Mart makes tires? And people buy them? :nervous:

I've thought about Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's or Continental ExtremeContact DW's. Thoughts?

I think we're going to get the Contis for the GTI eventually. But comparing the two is weird because it looks like the Contis put down better specs but they still weren't rated as well. I guess that boils down to the DWs not being very stable yet having decent grip.

You never ever buy a cheap tire without reading reviews on it first. While some Korean tires are okay, a lot of Chinese and Korean tires aren't. At all.

Just went tire-buying with a cousin. Maxxis MA-Z1 Victras on his car. Just a few days and he wanted them off...

See... despite being, supposedly, a UHP tire... the Victras had tall and narrow tread blocks... which lead to an awful lot of tread squirm. Which isn't a problem if you're driving in a straight line... but man... those things are treacherous in a corner... They slip, deforming, then grip... causing the uneasy sensation that the car is going to roll over... or not make the turn... or spin... you can't really tell... and this is pumped at a rock hard 36 psi.

For tires that are so highly rated, they're garbage compared to a set of worn-out AD07s!

Replaced them with Kumho Ecsta SPTs. Might not be as much grip in the tread compound as the softer Maxxis tires, but much more predictable, and actually easier to drive fast in.

I can't believe the MA-Z1s get such glowing reviews... :dopey:

Me, still on my Advan AD07s. Best tires, ever. Incredibly stable tread. Love getting hot. Not as much steering feel as my old tires, but the grip and confidence they give are incredible. Sad they're finally being phased out... Now I'm going to have to find a new hoon-tire for my car...
