I'm guessing you're up in the mountains skiing a lot?

I have a friend who keeps his show tires on his Outback all year. But he goes up into the mountains every other weekend in the winter.
 
Front:
Bridgestone Potenza RE050
215/45ZR17

Rear:
Bridgestone Potenza RE050
245/40ZR17

They are the tires that came with the car from the factory.
 
Camaro: whatever tires are used at Discount Tire
Daytona Shelby: no earthly idea

Negative. My commute goes through the Black Hills, which ice all the time in the clear, and snow quite a bit when it's raining everywhere else.

My only complaint is that they're a bit loud. But with the overwhelming majority of the tread left on the tire, I'll be using them for the foreseeable future. I'm already looking into some Continental ContiExtremeContacts for the next set. One thing is for sure, these tires are a helluva lot more expensive than what they were for the Jetta...

Good choice! I was going to get those for my car, but I couldn't stomach the $700 :eek: price tag for all four. Instead I'm rolling on 255/50/16 Falken Ziex 512's. They're pretty good for what they are though.

Very nice tyres, very good on wet surfaces despite the fact that they are summer tyres (which is why I selected them). :)
 
The Grand Espace has Michelin Pilot Primacy XSE in 225/55 R17s, I think. Fronts are about a tenth of a mill off the wear indicators, will be getting swapped on Oct 4 or Oct 8 after just shy of 16,500 miles.

Quite happy to get new Michelins, but happy to take advice.

Same tires and size I run. Agreed - awesome.
 
I'm using 3 generic "Le Mans Touring" tires. 2 on the front, and one on the rear driver's side. I can't remember the brand of the rear passenger, but they came with the car when I bought it 2 years ago, and they seem fine thus far, even mismatching and generic. The tread wear is great too, they look almost as new now as they did when I bought the car (the tires were all basically brand new when I got it). They also get along pretty decent in the winter, and there's virtually no road noise. Generic mismatching economy tires ftw!
 
I got some Eagle F1- Gs's on my Trans Am. 275/40/17 all around.

they are awful tires for stright line grip. they are nice in the twistys though.

soon I will have these

Front: 255/40/17 Nitto 555

Rear: 275/40/17 Nitto 555R Drag Radials
 
My little Town Car is currently rolling on 245/45-17 Pirelli P8000 on Mustang Bullit Wheels and soon will be change for 215/75-15 winter tire :(
 
man...nobody buys cheap clones but me, i guess.

I got lucky. when I went and had my suspension fixed, they pulled clones of Goodyear MVX4's off the front, and slapped Yokohama Geolanders on. them poor things are gonna give me hockey sticks in the winter, though. I went through some thickish mud on Friday, and the thing wouldn't turn! (on a sharp curve)

I stagger tires for better winter traction, so I have more M and S oriented on the back (a set of National Commando's)
my spare, however, is an antique. an un-named Uniroyal in (get this) LR78-15.

Had heard bad things and they are justified, get tyre squeal from barely any cornering...
Look forward to getting some toyos or falkens.

I love Kumho tires as much as Toyos and Yokohamas, those are the only 3 tire companies I like

I'm a fan of Michelin, myself. My car is on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires, 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear. Great wet and dry performance...if only they weren't so expensive! :indiff:

I kid!

I'm usually more of a Goodyear guy, and I also have more of a preference towards BFGoodrich tires as well, but the European aristocrat in me can occasionally push me towards Perelli and Continental as well. As always, it depends on the application.
 
Thread revival

Was bored so I figured I'd see what tires I have on the 740

Falken ZIEX ZE912 195/60/15

These are the first fancy type tires I've had so I have no real comparison to make, the ones on the Barracuda are a completely different type of tread style. I have no idea if they're good or bad being on a Volvo boat, but they do put up one hell of a fight to break traction so I guess I could say they're pretty good.
 
Anyone here use the Nitto NT-05s or BFG GeForce T/A KDWs on the track or for autocrossing? I'm looking to get rid of the hard as heck Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars.
