I Just registered with this Forum and Its very intuitive with interesting posts and useful info on GT3.

My question is, how much of a difference in detail would I notice between a 32" tv and a 27"?

Im getting a new tv and a playstation 2 with my tax money. Ive never even played the game but I am a huge fan of GT1 and GT2.

I realize that either way I go I will be pleased but how about you guys? What size tv do you play on and how much of a difference in realism and detail do you all think you would gain or lose?

I just want to make sure I get the best possible game experience.

Thanks,

I have a way too small for me 27 in that i want to get rid of. Im going to get a flat screen 36in toshiba some time this summer. But if i had to tell you what kind of tv i would say get a tv that is a HDTV. I would like to get my self one of them but the cheapest starts out like 2g's and im not ready to spend that much on a tv.

Also, remember that a bigger size TV is not necessarily more detailed. I noticed a big diff going from my old 27" RCA to my 32" Toshiba, but that was mostly because of the crappy resolution of my old set. :) If the resolation is high enough though, a 27" can be just as detailed as a 32".

What ever you do, don't get a projection TV, game consoles kill them. I have a 25" RCA TV that I use with the S-Video conection. I suggest what ever you get, make sure it has S-video and buy the S-video cords for the PS2(or PSX, the PSX ones are made by Sony, that's what I got and it's exellent, works on PS2 ofcouse). Hope that helps...

I didnt even think about the S video input, would it really make that big of a difference between that and the A/V cables??

yea, it does, it's the best possible picture you can get, and it's great. Just go to a video game store, look at their display, that's the normal cable, then get the S-Vid cables and try it out, depending on store you can return it, you probably won't after you see it...

I play it on my 105 screen Sony with the home theater system turned on... Sensational !! But yes, it is a bit smudgy with the colors. I found that playing it with my 70 screen flatscreen is a bit better graphicalwise.

Well, I've got a 27", and its OK. I'm sure bigger would be better, especially if it was flatscreen, but to be honest 27" is perfectly adequeate and does the job well enough. :)

Damn you.... I want a plasma tv!!! Give Me Yours!!!

I'm on 32" widescreen , but it's just as good upstairs on the 21" :)I dont think that size matters all that much, GT3 is just the best! i would be happy playing it on a 3" pocket tv :D

i got a 38" plasma screen fixed to my wall at home and its great. that added to the wireless full dolby surround sound and lazy boy chair means i can get great gaming experience.

Having gone from a 36" Panasonic to a 27" Zenith I'd say go for the 32". I'm still working the wife over to get a 47" HD this fall.

I'll echo the thoughts about S-video. I run my PS2 on S-video, and it makes a huge difference. You'll notice it.

Having sold tv's and Surround sound for a number of years, Spend some extra time looking at Sony and Panasonic. Check out a few forums/websites about TV's. Make an educated choice.

As for Playstations damaging Projection TV's it's true. What he's not telling you is why they get damaged. The Electron guns in the projection TV's are incredibly intense. If you stare at a light for 5 minutes, you walk away with a spot on your eyes. However, it will fade after a bit. This is what happens with the TV. Except it gets burned into the guns. With GT3, the full image is always moving, including the background.

haha i aint got a plasma screen i was speakin to money bags buyin a new screen ;)

oh and yea where do u get cables that can hook up ur ps2 to a monitor ?

I have a 27" here. No issues for me. I would like a bigger screen just for the pure enjoyment of BIG!! Whatever you are willing to dish out for a TV, that's on you.....

I'm playing on a 32" Sony WEGA, and it rocks! I would definitely recommend the bigger screen, especially for watching movies on.

I have a 19" for my PS2. We also have a new phillips 27" and I can tell a big diff. Plus my 19" gets real blurry at the edges. But bugger is not always better. Any one played GT3 on an HDTV?
