What would you change in GT5?

If you were PD, what would change in order to make this a better game?

If I am PD, I would question my logic of having 2 Copen as premium cars and the Caterham & Veyron as standard.

If possible, no standard/premium cars. All would be at premium quality.
I sure as hell would have made it possible to change the wheels/wheel sizes on any car.
Imagine having every track that's ever been in the series all in one game? That would also be a given, assuming the PS3 wouldn't s**t itself.

The way the game plays is most important, so given it's perfection in that area, I can ignore its graphical glitches & mod shortcomings.

One or all of the following:

- Raise XP awarded per race
- Lower the XP requirements to advance to the next level
- Add more races with more variety

fix the hud, by making it so you can decide what you see, in each view too, so for example you can switch things off in cockpit mode that you want kept on, return the odometer that was visible in gt4 but only available in clear mode standard cars, cockpit mode premium cars, as many people are complaining about the hud

Add XP and prize money to online races both public and private.
Lots of leaderboards and statistics info on races career and online.
More options in online races as in restrictions and ability to set up a series race and set the end race timer by race.
Career mode events available online to run with your friends with AI filling in as needed.
More race mods
Ability to save tunes to disk with user generated filenames and load as needed.

MORE a-spec events, tie a and b-spec together like GT4.

Add option to turn off car collection music.

Make better prize cars, and allow them (mostly) to be re-won/sold.

More historical/significant cars, premium.

Historical F1 cars and tracks.

Decrease the price for repairing damage on the chassis and the engine rebuild. At the moment I have to repair the chassis and the engine for a LMP1 around 500,000 cr.

Oh and change all standard cars to premium. No more premium car list. Just a regular car list. 👍

I would change the Sebastian Vettel challenge to be unlocked at level 29 instead of level 30.

I'm level 29 right now and I need about 99 bazillion experience points to get to level 30.

-Increase the amount of events.
-Make the XP progression for leveling more liniear.
-Make all cars resellable.
-Increase the payout of selling cars.
-Make all race cars premium quality. Seriously, some of the best cars in the game aren't "Premium".
-Flesh out the classes based on year. For instance, create all or most of the cars for "Le Mans 24h - 2010", not some from 2010, some from 2006, some from the Civil War, some from around King Tutekamen's reign, etc.. I want to race my 908 against Audi cars and Acura cars.
- Improve prize car quality. As it stands now, some of the prize cars aren't worth it.

-Allow me to switch with my B-Spec driver in Endurance races.
-The ability to pause and fast-forward B-Spec races
-The "you have to reach this level to be able to drive this car" needs to go.

remove all standard cars from the game
remove all junk cars from the game
remove prize cars
reduce cash prizes
reduce resale value of cars
make lvls take way longer
put a lvl restriction on getting licences
make licences take way longer
put licence restrictions on races
put car restrictions on races (hp, weight, etc)
fix hp upgrades on cars
add more races
make races longer
have tyre wear in all races
add online leaderboards
kick online racers driving backwards
fix AI
remove nascar
remove rally
remove 3D
remove or fix night driving
remove or fix badly modelled tracks
ranked online races on real hosted servers
fix suspension and aero on standard cars
fix sound

Get your information right about the cars. In the description about the eclipse's it says 2g's were fwd only! that's not true at all!.. it says the 1g's were awd rockets, but they are not in the game! Are you serious GT?

I can put a spoiler on my 2g eclipse (which I'd rather not)
But I can't put wheels on it because it's a "standard" car?
Since when is a 380hp turbo eclipse standard?
ek get's lip kits but we dont? No racing mods either?

very disappointed. It's still a good game, but this is the biggest killer for me, Wheels for ALL cars please.

More up-to-date vehicles. I wanted my car and they didn't have it let alone any new mustang.

More A-Spec races and variety.

Online rewards

More events and longer championships. eg 10 RACE world championship which u can save in between races like GT4.

And have Silverstone on the game! :)

Well, there are obviously very subjective posts here, and mine is no exception.

But I think one very important area that would appeal to all fellow GT racers (even those that say they don´t need it) is engine sounds.

If you simulate that sensation of revving a ferrari to redline (or even an 80´s carburetor V12 - countach anyone?) accurately, you would increase the sheer fun of drving imensly. If you heard a supercar in real life, you know that it is the sound that stands out.

I admit that I am kind of a sound addict when it comes to cars. But Í am convinced that it is a crucial part of the driving experience. And even those people that say "naahh, sound is great in GT5" would notice and enjoy the difference.

Its all about the feeling of power and we surely can´t have the g-forces simulated (yet). So let us hear those engines scream and pop on the overrun, and those turbos spool up and the wastegates.

That is my main concern. Of course it would be nice to have premiums only, and some fixed shadows, and some improved headlights, and some improved gravel physics, and some Top Gear challenges that are actually fun to do.

But I think the sounds have allways been the weak point of GT, and hearing those sports cars scream is too important to not improve it.

And to all of you who still do not believe me, here is a little clip I´d like to show you. Just compare that to the ingame car: (I have driven one of these in real life and they sound even better than in the video :) )

There are a lot of things that could be improved, added, etc, but I would like a save feature for endurance races more than anything else, as I would like to be able to complete the game and I don't have the time or want to race 24hours straight.

Oh and while there at that they could add a save feature between championship rounds also.;)

As many people have said - more and varied competitions (I'm beginning to think DLC will be all new competitions)

FFW in B-spec

A better spread of cars - there's a decent selection at the mo, but we really don't need 20 different S2000's, 30 Honda Civics, a million Skylines etc.

Believe it or not - MORE restrictions on competitions! Stuff to make them a bit more fair, so HP, weight, type, age etc.

Some cars brought up to premium. I feel like I avoid most the cars in my garage just because they're standard and I love the driver seat view (except in the rain or snow at night).

Also some new cars added in. Ford definitely got shafted in this game considering there are more different versions of the skyline than there are of any Ford cars added together.

I'd like 2011 GTs and GT500s at least.

I'd like some just random events in A Spec that are HP and weight restricted, that way tuning will actually be a necessity and you don't just buy everything for your car and win by a mile.

I'd like B spec to be able to fast forward. Just hit 22 and these races require 2 drivers and take a long time. So you can't just leave it because you eventually have to pit, it takes way too long and honestly I do not want to sit there for that long just coaching. Because it makes me want to race even more. So FFW would be awesome.

Also, credits and xp for online. It would make me more motivated to find a race, and probably motivate more people to actually race instead of dicking around doing nothing.

Prize cars to me are fine. Don't see why people are whining about that. I could understand either giving more xp for races or lowering xp to level up, but if we got a good amount of xp for online, then that would solve that.

And more cars that are standard should definitely be premium.

If I were Polyphony Digital...

- Add more everyday cars, quite a lot of people want to drive their real life car.
- Remove the segregation between premium and standard in the garage
- Add race modifications for all cars
- More events, which means...
- Less repetition of the same 'easy' race to gain XP to advance to the next level.
- Reduce XP awarded for entering a race with a silly amount of advantage over other cars (eg. McLaren F1 in British Lightweight).
- Add an option to do a race again as soon as you have finished it, without having to exit to the track selection and then wait for it all to load again.
- Add an invite friend to race option online.
- Add a save option to endurance races, only a few people who have the time will complete an edurance race in one sitting, most people will leave their Playstation on or simply not bother with them (I am the latter, but would like to do the race but do not have the time).

I imagine all of those, aside from adding more 'normal' cars could be done fairly quickly.

Oh and finally, please stop the game awarding me Lamborghini Countach's and Volkswagen Lupo's as prizes. One of each is plenty, at present I have 3 Countach's and 5 Lupo's... I've not bought any of them! :ouch:

Could you please, please, PLEASE tell me where I can get the countach as prize cars? I know that the Lambo event gives you one, but my plan is to get a countach to do that event.

If you could tell where I can win an anniversary countach I would be very happy. I have been looking for it in the used car section since I got GT5.

Back on topic:

removable hud (very easy to do and a must have)

fast forward and backward in replays (would make foto mode MUCH easier). So often I think "ohhh that would have been a great foto". But watch the whole replay again to get there?

Get the tuning options right. Chiptuning for oldtimers, but I can´t turbocharge a R32 golf? Especially when there is a HGP tuning version that IS turbocharged in the game? Couldn´t turbocharge my 370z or M5, both cars can be turbocharged irl.

many, many, many more events.
custom championship generator - save during championship, available for online friends.
Improved AI
Damage option from start - for all cars
Remove levelling system completely

I have one from the A Spec Lamborghini exclusive (LP400 '74), one from the B Spec Lamborghini exclusive (Anniversary '88) and the other (LP400 '74) I must have got with one of those mystery tickets for completing all of the races in amateur or professional etc

1. A.I. GT5 has the same A.I. as GT1, it's a joke right.
2. Online servers/leaderboards
3. Events and car selection is demented, and what happened to the one make races?
4. No standard cars- I just deleted 90+ from my garage as I can't stand the sight of them, the few I need for championships will be deleted/sold once done.
5. More premium cars.
6. Improve the trading system- As it stands it's pathetic. Most of the cars I deleted I could have traded, but I'm sick of cars going missing etc.
7. Realise it's not the 90's anymore and it's time to start listening to the community.

Oh, that is easy, make it just like GT4, just better *g*

But seriously.......

More Events with more Races per Event. (i.e. Classics like 4WD, NA Cars, Rally?, All Weather Challenge, Area/Country Challenges,etc.....)

Cars all modelled to the same standard (that actually should be a given....)

Ability to save tunes per car.

Livery editor so that players can customise their cars individually

Online Trading Platform (simmilar to the Auction house from the Forza Series). Seems to be the best option for used cars etc.

B-Spec as Option for all events and not as a seperate feature

Different Reward System

Reward cars delivered directly to garage and not via the delivery truck (still cant figure out why someone would do it like that......)

Ability to pain the car any colour you want. More exotic combinations like Pearl and Metallic cost a bit more, as they do in real life.

Ability to exit during a challenge series and pick up where you left off.

Better front end with a more "Racing World" kind of feel. Build up the Career from B-Spec all the way to F1 or something simmilar. i.e. a "logical" progression in a racing career

.... :)

> I would put a bit more effort into making the cars actually look dirty rather than just have shiny and not so shiny, difficult to do on over 1000 cars I know but I really thought they would of improved this a bit from GT4, although the cars do show some signs of proper dirt when you take them rallying but it could be better and more importantly it doesn't stay on the car.

> It is a big shame you can't change wheels on standard cars but I can just about live with that however I think the choice of wheels on the premium cars is pretty poor so I would like to see a just a few more wheels.

> The restore body rigidity and engine overhaul options need a good looking at, if you overhaul an engine on a used car and you try to do it again immediately it doesn't let you do it, ok fine, but then if you do a couple of races you won't lose any bhp but then you are allowed to do the overhaul again, why? It’s the same for the body rigidity option, I just can't understand why it allows you to do it again so soon, it makes it very confusing trying to remember what car you have restored & overhauled so you don't do it again unnecessarily.

> Most important of all though concerns the endurance races, who in their right mind thought it was good idea to do endurances with a-spec and b-spec separately I think its fine to do all the other races separately but when you come to do endurance races you should be able to do it with your b-spec drivers as team mates and not do the whole damn thing yourself then do it all again with b-spec, it is complete madness and totally un-realistic you should only have to do them once and be able to choose if/when you want to do a stint.

> And obviously all cars with interior views, it's a major task I know but having only 20% of cars with interior view just isn't right.

> Oh and a few less S2000's & MX-5's and a few more vital cars like Escort Cosworth, new Focus RS, Civic Type R hatchback, VW Scirocco R and new Audi S models.

If I am PD, I would question my logic of having 2 Copen as premium cars and the Caterham & Veyron as standard.

Yeah and 2 Suzuki Swifts that appear to be identical except the year which they are made.

Well i think before they should add anything they should fix the issues which are allready there. Because adding new features will create 100 new problems which won't be fixed either.

Issues to be fixed:

Damage system:
This system as it is is just a joke. The damage is gone after a race and has no or very, very little effect on the car itself. Come on, i can crush 5 times with over 400 km/h into a wall and the car got just some scratches and goes as nothing happend. Eather kill the damage system or do it properly as it is in Race Driver Grid where the damage actually influences how your car behaves during the race.

The AI:
Well i think every one of you will just think as I do that the AI is just stupid. That goes for your b-spec Bobs and for the other AI drivers. (Bob is more stupid in some races than most AI drivers). They will just bump into you if you are in their way. They are like trains and nothing can stop them if they are set for their line. This goes hand in hand with the damage system. It's acctually fine if there is no damage system at all or no damage effect on the car except visible damage. I think if there would be real damage effect they would "care" for the car they drive because if they bump into each other they just ruin their car and are out of the race.

B-Spec Bob in Nascar:
Can anyone tell me if their Bob could do the Nascar championship in B-Spec? He's braking down to 200 km/h per houer even before a turn in Daytona. WTH???? Why do they give us Nascar Races in B-Spec if they don't teach the B-Spec driver on how to driver there. My Bob started as 7th and was last before the first turn because he just wanted to brake. Btw my Bob was level 25 when he did that race and totally ****ed it up.

Selling price cars:
Well it would be just great if you could sell all cars. It's just not funny if you win a car you don't like but is worth a ton of credits and you want to sell it and there's just the comment. This car can't be sold. Do you want it to get it out of your garage? (Sry I don't have this game in english so I'm pretty sure that's not the text which is used in the english version, but the meaning should be clear).

Winning cars only once:
Well it would be just cool if you would be able to win a car more often than only once. Give us the car carousel from gt3 back and the issue of winning just the most expensive cars you could sell for 1-2 million (if you could sell these cars and not only kick them out of your garage) in order to gain cash. But come on. i don't want to keep my ****ing pink/violet vayron i want the possibility to rewin it in another color.

There are tons of other issues which should be fixed but i think those are the most important for the general fun of the game.
