I just came up with the idea of GTAuctions. Would this be a good idea for GT5 or bad one? I think it would be cool because you could sell your car like of it was EBay or something of that nature. Or something like Mecum GT Auctions. XD haha

Yea I mean, not everything is going to be perfect but it could still work if it doesn't get messed with a lot. It should be kept simple, whatever credits you have is the amount you can spend. Plus it would make a really nice chance for photomode to really shine :)
 
I remember the first TDU had this, was a great way to get hard to find cars or just ones you were looking for

And everyone was selling cars for cheap because they didn't need the money

For example I have 3 ZZII's. so whenever I see one in the UCD i just ignore it. If I could buy it and throw it in the auction house, people who want it can up and grab it. I'd be happy to do that
 
^ the only issue I could foresee is when they find a way to hybrid again the auctions will be flooded with 100k+hp cars and what not. Now, a few minor mods i.e. Slammed or realistic engine swaps would be cool and probably widely accepted provided they aren't given more than say 1000hp (kind of a faux pas in real auctioning to do so in real life) because there are cars in game (x series aside) that can reach 1000hp with in game features.
 
This is a great idea. If it would be sort of like Midnight Club's Rate My Ride, but once the car is bought no one else can buy it.
 
Just take the model from Forza and put a different name on it. Same concept pretty much.

Makes you wonder how often it would be used compared to Forza Auction House seeing as every car on GT5 is presumably the same. (eg. No altering designs or vinyl's). It would work well for those harder to obtain cars that can only be found in the UCD.

With Never before seen cars re-released to GT like FPV, Nike One, Daimlerbenz etc. cars randomly added by PD

I don't think it would be a very good idea because it sounds too much like Forza's Auction House which is where you probably got the idea. I believe PD should come up with its own set of ideas in order to continue distinguishing itself apart from other racing games. Forza has its Auction House, GT has the gifting service which sets GT apart from Forza as far as that part of the game goes. I believe PD needs to come up with their own original ideas and not copy or take another titles ideas. If you wanna out do your competition, you gotta be original, thats all I'm saying.

Last I checked Forza also has a gifting service. I remember that gt used to only let you do 1 gift a day. Is that still the case? If so that's the only thig that sets it apart from Forza.

I would gladly take this feature with the game. It would make it easier to find that certain car your looking for.

And, following that line of reasoning, the paint chip system was born.

"Good artists borrow, great artists steal" has some relevance in certain situations, and this is one of them. Ignoring the implementation of a good idea for no other reason than to avoid appearing to have "stole" it, and instead putting a weaker system in place, will not do PD any favours.

(EDIT) And no, OP, you didn't - this has been brought up a great many times before.
 
Hmm I've just thought. That would just mean the trading of X1's if they really went unlimited again. Put a price of 500c or what not. Sell the car to your friend. Back up and restore your data. Duplicated 1,000,000+ cars, again.

T10 polices the FM saves a lot (since there's a lot of communication with the servers), and strange aberrations like massive credit spikes or the return of a sold-off car draw up flags, and can (and have) resulted in bans. I'm not entirely sure of the details involved, but I imagine it would involve a lot more server-side power on PD and Sony's behalves. Certainly more than the simple gifting system currently in place requires, at any rate.

Ok, if they did find a way to make it entirely different than Forza's Auction House, then maybe. But I still think it would be a good idea for PD to come up with something entirely different tho that would really set it apart from Forza. Maybe something like PD themselves do an auction, make it a one of a kind car or paint scheme where the winner of the auction would really have something rare...with no way of duping or gifting it. Don't know how well that would work, but you see what I mean.

I didn't know Forza already had an auction thing, because I don't play Xbox or Forza. But there is always somethings that might be different for GTAuctions than Forza auction house. But, I'm not a game designer, so I cant implement it and find out. But I still think it would be cool. :)
