So PD is clearly considering this. What about the old tracks, El Capitan etc...?

Haha, no. I'm hypothesising. Sorry to ruin your hopes. In the OP, I made it up to create an interesting debate that could possibly arise at GT6 but is unlikely though.

...hope springs eternal!!:)

Interesting debate all the same. 👍

there are duplicate cars under a different brand. for example, the lexus gs300 sells as the toyota aristo in japan. same car, different name.
One is left had driven, the other one is RHD. Now that all cars have a cockpit that makes a difference. In that case you can choose, while with Premium cars some have the steering wheel on the wrong side (RHD Alfa Romeos or Peugeots? Come on...) and nothing can be done with that.

does it contribute to how many cars there are ingame? yes. if we remove half of the name duplicates and some standard models that are plain useless there will be more game capacity to fit more crap in gt5.
Disc space is not a problem, in fact GT5 doesn't even use completely a single layer of its BD.

Anyway, If I had to choose, probably it would be a draw between 10 completely new tracks or 100 unique new Premium cars, provided that the former aren't only real life boring FIA-approved racetracks and the latter not more unoriginal (or worse, Top Gear-ish) supercars or racecars.

I'm hypothesising, its just an idea to spark a debate really.

I say drop the 50 iterations of Skylines and those other JPN cars nobody cares about having 10 iterations of, and other cars that are the same exact model only difference is the year. (this would probably reduce the number of standard to 400) :D

Only time they should have 2 or more of that car is if its a:
2003 Mustang GT or Mach1
2003 Mustang SVT Cobra

The difference between those 2 cars alone is better than the likes or a 1995, 1998, 1999, 2001 Honda Integra.

One other thing, the Spec 2.0 added interior to supposedly 800 cars, I've only seen 1 interior upgrade and thats the Formula GT. Pretty pathetic, they should have given us more rims to choose from. They have had the same rim set since 2004's GT4. And probably added no more than 10. WOW 👎👎👎👎👎 👎👎

I wouldn't trade them for anything

My favorite cars in this game are standards. I have about 200 cars that i wouldn't want to play this game without

Definitely 100 premium upgrades of standard cars. That way, quality will be consistent, and we will only have cars that we care about (such as the Veyron, LMP/Group-C's, RUF's, and most race cars) as opposed to the 700 or so duplicate Skylines/RX7's, Kei cars, slow cars, etc.

So you speak for the whole of GTP now? There's a couple of thread for slower/Kei/normal cars. Do your homework. 💡

On topic, I'd trade the standards for a Livery Editor and 200 more premiums; namely modern, normal, civilized family cars that I can then tune into a racing beast. :)

Nothing... most of my favorite cars are standards... and some are vital to any GT game.

A bunch of skylines? I dont care. I even miss some of them, the 4 door versions of R33 and R32 for example.

The more, the better...

I would trade the 800 standards... for 1000 standards. lol

this is the thing that other racing games have that we don't: cars that people actually care about.

I voted tracks.

100 Premiums or 20 new cars from a particular series would be nice but track count is always king.

I laughed at damage model like Forza 3, though!

I would trade them for NEW SOUNDS (NOT SYNTHESIZED!!) and no static/stiff camera and hands inside the cockpit.

This says it all

(Forza 4 noise bomb)
Please don't drag Forza into this as realistic in any way shape or form. The vacuum cleaners in Forza 4 world all come with V8s and racing mufflers. :p

I have a feeling you meant to say this.

has to be 100 new premium cars for me. I think the car list is looking a little dated compared to forza 4. It's not as if we are going to see GT6 anytime soon so I just hope they keep the car list reasonably updated via DLC now and again

Nothing at all.

They are essential to GT. All of them.

And the standard interiors do the job surprisingly well especially the rear view mirrors.

I give this thread a better thinking and yeah, I would trade the 800 standards for...

800 premiums. Not less. I don't want to lose any car.

More tracks, and more events. I would actually say 100 premiums, but since 86 of them would most certainly be nissan, I'll stick with the tracks and the events

800 premiums, poster a few posts above the falcon xr8 has a glitched rear vision mirror in cockpit view can only see 1/4 of the mirror and its pointing in the wrong direction, I just finished the suzuka 1000 with it in cockpit view, enjoyed it overall except for the mirror lol.

Yes, 800 premiums on GT5 Disk 2:sly:

I wouldnt even trade a standard bmw lmr v12 for say 10 new premiums.
I would trade them for 100 premium cars of my choice .... but thatl never happen so .
And I would how ever trade them for a completely new course creator with more freedom and new locations.I would seriously kill for a custom 24hr city race track race with weather lol
