So I've been gone for quite a while, after my PS3 YLOD'ed me. But a few weeks ago I got another PS3 and GT5. Completely updated both my PS3 and GT5 and now.... I can't do much of anything. Load time are extremely long, both on and offline, with an offline race taking up to 3 minutes to load. Then After I win the game will get stuck showing me the "victory lap" after you win the race. At times the sound will not come in, and I have to quit the game, and start it again. I love this game and have been very excited to get back into it,but how can I drive if my feet have been cut off and my hands tied? If anyone has any fixes that I have over looked, then please tell me, I searched the forum a bit and found similar issues, but they were all online.

Is your ps3 new or second hand ? Sometimes things have been slow in those areas but not as slow as you mentioned . Some recent updates have slowed things down and caused all sorts or problems but things seemed to have improved a little . Try clearing your cache in gt5 options . Hope things speed up for you soon 👍

Hi oopssorryy its not just you that is having issues lots of people are having slow loading issues. Since the last update the GT5 game has had slow loading times, it is a problem they need to address but I guess it is just not on the top of there priority list. Back in August they were having the same issues and the first of September they did several days of server maintenance and that speeded up the game. They said the maintenance was to fix minor issues. Well I think they have big issues now that they need to fix ASAP. If they can't install a update without causing problems they should remove the update untill they can put it in the game without causing people problems. I would rather have a game that worked correctly than a update that made it very aggravating to play.

It's a used fat 40, but it's a refurbished system that had been completely wiped. I downloaded the 8 gigs on start up, and then downloaded all the updates including 2.01. I'll try clearing the cashe, I hope it helps. I just found a 2000GT and I want to tune it.

Strange, loading times were suposse to got shorter after the update. This has to be something with your PS3.

I doubt it, it has no problem with Black OPs, Dark/Demons Souls, or ME2. I was refurbed in January (of this year).... I got it at our local Gamespot so I could always have them check it out.

Mine has been loading lightning fast since 2.0 update (160gb slim). The game itself loads in less than a minute, tracks load 10 secs max( though it takes a while afterwards to load all cars, but its not a problem since you can fiddle with the tune set up or aids while they load). Try it without logging in PSN, because the game is constantly trying to connect to servers and if the connections is bad, it kinda freezes until it connects.

Even signed in Its under 2 mins to load for most users.
Going from GT home to actual racing is less than 1 min for a race.
As the other user posted Race data loads in the background while tuning but only takes < 1 min for races now.

Video recording. HDD install for GT5 done. Even have custom music enabled from HDD

I've always had terribly slow loading times and I bought my ps3 in the gt5 bundle in January. It's the only game I've played on the ps3 and it takes roughly 10-15 minutes from the playstation home to load the game and finally get to menus...It's absolutely ridiculous...

You should have had someone fix the YLOD instead of buying a new PS3, mine was fixed for roughly the $10 tube of thermal compound, and whatever the cost of a nice computer fan strapped to the side. Something is definatly wrong.

It was an old 80 gig. I sold it last month for 100 bucks, and then bought the one I have now for 150. Not that bad, and the gut's of the 40 have all be redone by Sony. Right now I've got an old window fan sitting a few inches away helping the systems fans until I can source a PS3 fan. Not exactly glad to hear a bunch of people are having the same issues, but misery loves company.

The people who have to wait 15 MINUTES!!! for GT5 to load should try loading it up without being logged into PSN.

I've never had to wait that long for anything in my life! lol

That's what I've been doing. It's horrible! The worst part is the game asks you 3 times on start up if you want to log in:ouch:

It's not just you after the 2.01 update my loading times are extremely slow and I can hardly play online.

same here

My loading times improved noticeably after patch 2.0, but since then they are falling down. My guess is: the more cars in my garage, the longer loading times.

Mine are faster since 2.01 aswell, I did think the Phat PS3 were slower tho as they used a poorer quality HDD?

im running a Slim 120Gb upgraded to a 320Gb HDD.

Are your slow times when your connected to the net? maybe its a inter net problem as GT5 runs from the servers when your online, try playing when not connected to PSn to see if its any faster.

I have no music on it yet, and I've tried it online but not on PSN, connected to PSN and offline. All load times are the same. I've never heard of the fats having poorer HD, hopefully the referb fixed that.

My loading times are faster, I'm using a new slim 160 GB,
make sure you clear that cache:tup:
