Whats happening with the 'Colourful' trophy?

Hey guys, another quick question i cant see after a search...



I have 256 colours in my items (Displayed top right) but the trophy didn't award? Im connected to the internet and signed on all of the other trophys i have earned have appeared almost instantly after for example covering over 111m/ per second...


P.S I have sync'd my trophy list and it still hasn't appeared

256 different color or 256 total?
You only get the trophy for the 256 different chip..
 
Well i had a couple with multiples of the same colour, sent them to my friends account and the total in the top right still says '256' :S
 
I have a similar problem as well, and have not gotten the trophy yet even at 260+ paints.

I have a theory though, that you have to have 256 unique colours. Even though it says 260 up there, I don't actually have that many unique colours. I sorted my list by hue, and found out a few paints that appear on top and do not follow the order. Those are actually the paints that I have multiple of, and yet it still contributes to the number up there.

You're getting chips, you just aren't getting the message saying your getting them.

I'm getting chips on 3 separate accounts and I'm in America. I've checked 2 days now. They're all getting chips although I can't verify the quantity.

Go look at your chips. I'll bet top ones are crazy paint names (like fancy forrest green or some such). Did you buy/receive a car recently with a crazy paint like that? Didn't think so.

How am I 100% sure I'm getting paint? I got Viper black, yet I haven't owned a single Viper in the game.

Would you have understood it to mean that duplicates are ok if it had said "256 paint colour"?

I'm not sure if you're being fatuous, facetious or humorous, but I'll answer cheerfully anyway.

I would think that duplicates were okay had the description stated "256 paint items" or simply "256 paints".

As it is the description clearly states colours, I still feel that it's reasonable to interpret that as 256 differing colours.
 
Just a few questions about this trophy and painting cars in general.

When you are awarded a new car, that color is added to the list of choices you have in GT Auto. Now, can you paint more than one car with that color once you own the paint item or will you just be able to use it once?

To get the trophy, how different must the colors be (a bit of a silly question but just to be sure)?

When you purchase a new car from the Dealerships, do you unlock the color you just purchased it in?

One time usage and it disappears from your list when used

You get a chip with the same color of the car MOST times. Some cars don't give chips.
 
I got that toyota concept with the color changing paint. I was so excited to paint my R8 with it. I was sooo sad when i didn't get the chip.
 
It's weird, I have 2 Black Chips (2 separate one, not two of the same one). I think this might be the reason why some need more than 256 to get the trophy.
 
I've sent all duplicates Eg:

Rossi Red = 1
Rossi Red = 1 (Sent)

And multiples Eg:

Metalic Black = 3 (Sent 2)

To my friends account, still says 256 at the top, no trophy. :S
