... I wander what will be the first breath taking experience in GT4.

I'll go out on a limb w/this one and say taking any decent handling car out on Nuburgring for the first time...especially after seeing the video here....all I can say is WOW! :D

I know I'm going to get flamed on for saying this, but in a way, it's kind of dumb to say that online play is more important than AI. That's like saying that PD didn't give a damn about any seriously legit artificial intelligence, so it's up to the game players to do what PD couldn't accomplish in terms of smart and sane AI. But in this context, "RedRiot" has a good idea as to what good AI is all about. And I remember playing Grand Prix Legends as a demo. I had a tough time controlling the old F1 beauties of the mid-late 1960s. And I don't think I played against other AI racers with the included demo track (Watkins Glen). I'm going to buy RedRiot's claim on GPL.

As far as more car brands go, I agree with you. But I can do fine without Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini. I'm not complaining about too many Lancers and Skylines and stuff. I mean, I see things differentely. I basically respect all cars, even if they are... nothing but Evos and Skylines. I also like a variety of tracks as well. Call me crazy, but I would like a nice oval to test my speed on. Three tracks I would nominate would be Atlanta, Charlotte, and California. But I would surely like to get into the magic of Spa-Francorchamps. For Australia, I'd say Bathurst and maybe Surfer's Paradise. You have a legendary Australian track and a wonderful street race challenge. If there were Indy or Champ Cars, I'd sure love to be Sebastian Bourdais and try to take down the opposition. And if Champ Cars were included, I wouldn't want some foolish "push to pass" deal. I'm a GT veteran, and I'm pretty sure I can hold my own even if the world came to an end.

I'm not done yet. Increased fields, dynamic weather, and car enhancements will be covered in my next reply.

Car enhancements for me. I've always wanted to be able to modify the exterior of the cars in GT and it definitely needs more engine mods.

While we're on the subject, is there any info on what mods will be available in GT4?

IMHO:

1) AI
2) Dynamic weather
3) More tracks (Macau will be nice)
4) Car enhancements
5) More modes

Imagine driving at The Ring at night.....total darkness with your headlights only. You made a mistake, smash the wall, lights gone. Drive in total blind darkness. Following tail lights of other cars only. How cool ?

Then half way it started to rain, the spray made the tail lights blurred and even less visiable. It's slippery, hard to see, no lights, car is damaged, dry tires....

Woah.......can you imagine?

At the end of the day we can always expect more cars, more tracks, more modes, better AI etc from each new version of GT. What we really need is something like a larger 'field' of opponants - revolution not evolution

If the AI in GT4 is nearly as good as F355 Challenge, I'll be in heaven..

F355 does not have an AI. All it has is an very smart calculation of positions of other cars without handicap, depending of ideal racing line and speed, but nevermind the bollocks, here are the Sex Pistols.

GT has it all, except the propper data management (so tired of repeating this). Data managament. Ten points. Data management. Other is OK. For a video-game.

I voted for more cars.
That is the GT trademark and thats what makes GT4 one of the best car game series in history. Nothing is more fun than winning a race and thinking "What car did I get this time"? That anticipated wait is soooo exciting and thats what got me addicted!!!!! Winning races is one thing but when you win a car that is the best!!!!!!!v Seeing that silouhette of a car then it comes into the light!!
650 cars is just an incredible amount of cars and I will be more way than happy with that. 👍 👍
-Ok im starting to get excited again. :)

All I can imagine is how quickly I'd load the game. That wouldn't be intense, that'd be annoying.

I'm surprised at some of the answers. Has anyone mentioned accurate PHYSICS model, or for that matter made it an option on the poll. To me its the most important part of a racing simulator. I know this will not come very close to accurate, mind you i may be wrong since the game hasnt come out but im judgin from GT3 and the previous ones. What I do like is the real effect when modifying the setups, you get a predictable real life response, if that makes any sense.

And now to chose from the list :| , Online play, nothing like going against the best because lets face it machines got nothing on the real driver :D. After that, since it might not be included, a challenging AI. Everything else this game offers IMHO.

I would like in order:

Improved physics model for the cars
AI improvements
Tire wear improvements - cars handling should really go away with old rubber
Driving open-top cars - to see the driver in action

The B-spec appears to offer a whole new way of driving the races - no other drving/racing sim appears to have anything like it - it looks like it will be very nice - possibly bringing in gas mileage into the race management in longer races, just like tires are in GT3 (well somewhat).

It's always better topless :dopey:

Prologue moved it forward, but the BMW Series 1 demo showed that big changes and improvements have been made in the physics model, in my opinion.

AI improvements
We can only hope, Prologue showed some minor improvments in the school mode AI (but only very small), quite strangely the Arcade mode AI in Prologue was as bad, if not worse than GT3. However none of us will no for sure until we get our hands on the final version of GT4.

Tire wear improvements - cars handling should really go away with old rubber
Other that the tire wear occuring to quickly in GT3 (particularly in Endurance races) I always found a big change to the cars hadling, both with cold and worn tires; but only if you had TCS and ASM turned off or very low. With them set to the default value they would more than compensate for the tire wear/temperature.

Its in and looks amazing, If you have not yet had a change head over to the video section and get downloading, quite a few vids have the Shelby Cobra and Nissan 350z Roadster with the roof down and the driver animations and detail is good. Prologue has the 350z roadster and I have to say when I first saw it in a replay I was stunned.

Edited to add that you are not the only one looking forward to the B-spec mode, to my mind it just adds a new dimension to the game, and as an avid photographer the photo-mode has me more than interested.
