What kind of gas is in bubble wrap? If it's just good old air.. then..*shrug* Call me weird then. I swear I tasted something.. sour ish..

Battery acid tastes salty. Burning.. not very tingly..

Coolant has no taste. (Yes, I've tried it when I was a kid, didn't know better back then!)

Yeah .. my guess is that its just stale air from being trappen in plastic for ages.

Well .. since we're on to it .. when I was 8 or 9 I was messin around with my dad's hydroulic jack and unscrewed the fluid cap all the way when the jack was completely extended and got a mouthful of it. It didn't taste too good 10 years ago and I assume that still holds true.

Eating plastic isn't a good idea in any circumstances I wouldn't think. I know Acrylic releases chlorine gas which can be dissolved in water (in stomach) to make hydrochloric acid, and you don't want more acid in there than you already have.
