First off, we don't talk funny, we talk English ;).

Omnis
What is the different between North and South england? What is the national opinion of Geordies and stuff?
Opinions vary greatly on the individuals, the differences between the North and South of England are immense, we hav hundereds of local dialects across the country, I do tend to find that the further North you go, the nicer and easier people are to talk to.

What do english people hate more? The other side of their city, or the other side of their country? (like, newcastle vs. sunderland, as opposed to newcastle vs. bristol, for instance.)
I don't think it's either, although most people just hate Liverpool.

We have a lot of countryside in England, lots of green hills and a few mountain ranges. Some fantastic driving roads going over and round them too. The weather tend to be wetter more often than dry but we doo sometimes get extremes.

Taxes are stupidly high, the cost of living in England is very high. I like England, just not the prices.

We have loads of motorspors here from national kart racing to ASCAR to different touring car competitions and nationa sportscar racing, also we have a good number of classic car events too.

I've never had any deep fired sweets before, and I've never seen a deep fried Mars bar, but that's a Northern, Nothern thing. We get snow in Manchester in the winter and in a lot places in the UK but not often in London.

An no, England isn't much like you see it in the Movies.

I pretty much think those UK taxes goes to the queen, which is useless to me... IMO
The monarchy costs everyone about 60p a year. That's nothing for something that's internationally identifiable and a huge tourist attracton.

Car wise it's alot different.

Most people drive 4-pots, and 1.8litre is about average, I think. Small hatchbacks roam the roads and most people's idea of tuning is body kits, rims and neons. Oh and fart can exahusts.

Busses aren't as bad as some people make out. They're my main mode of transport into town and they're rarely late and fairly frequent. Trains suck. Our entire network and service is flawed and is completely unreliable (out of 3 times I have gone to catch a train, 2 was cancelled).

National Health service is pretty good, better than alot of people make out, I think. And it's not as dumb as an idea as danoff makes out :p

Sport is football dominated. Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are some of the biggest clubs. Though rugby is very popular in south Wales (not so much north, which is really just the commuter belt for Liverpool) and Northern England.

Our heavy industry sucks since coal went down hill. But our motorsport and aerospace industries are doing great.

The missues is a nurse at Trafford county general, I often hear how bad the NHS is.

Motorsport is the one single reason I would be reluctant to leave the UK, and particulary the place I currently live.

I am within an hours drive of three circuits, two national and one international.

Castle Combe (20 minutes away)
Thruxton (40 minutes away)
Silverstone (60 minutes away)

With many more if you extend the travel time to a couple of hours.

We also have (in my humble opinion) some of the finest driving roads in the world, and with Europe a short ferry/Chunnel trip away, even the likes of the 'ring and LeMan are within a days travel.

As far as the UK being like the films, nothing could be further from the truth.

In regard to the cost of living, it is high, but tax wise we are far from the worst. A good number of other European countries fair far worse than the UK, particulalrly when it come to purchase tax on cars.

We do have a wide variety of food availiable, much of which is excellent. As well as a fair share of unhealthy rubbish (such as deep fried mars bars, etc), however when you order a meal you don't get served enough to feed an entire family on one plate.

On the whole the weather does have a good range and variety, it lovely and sunny out right now (and hot) and has been for some time now. We do get rain and snow (depending on the part of the country you live in, and to be honest I like it like that. Remember their is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.

Agreed, I'm 10 minutes from Silverstone and surrounded by motor racing teams (Honda F1, Prodrive, Midland and a few others all within 20 minutes from me). I think that's the only real reason why I like this country, weather can be alright too I suppose.

Then again I dunno what country I'd rather live in, guess I'm just too used to the British way of life.
:D

Come to the UK and meet well balanced and adjusted folk like me.

Put the knife down and we'll talk. Otherwise, no deal. ;)

Seriously, though, it is on my very long list of places to visit when my boys get a bit older.

I love england, not that ive ever lived anywhere else. Ive come to love it, we speak english, and america apparently speak 'english', so i ask you, who speaks it funny? The country its named after, or the country it isnt?

Secondly, the food is great. We may not be able to walk 100m to the nearest fastfood place wherever we live, but we have scones (however you pronounce it), cornish pastys, yorkshire puddings, strawberries and clotted cream; just to name a few.

The countryside is great, but of course not specific realy to england. We have moors, mountains and lovely beaches, what else do you need?

We drive on a DIFFERENT side of the road, not the wrong side. It would only be wrong if we were in your country, which im sure were not. Ive always wondered what would happen if a bridge linked England to mainland europe...would the bridge twist half way across so we were on other sides of the road?

The weather here isnt always reliable, but lets face it, it would be boring to wake up knowing what weather you would have that day. At the moment its very hot, on wednesday it peaked at 36 degrees (not fahrenheit/kelvin to stop any smart ass remarks). In the winter we get little, usualy no snow, with temperatures around 5degrees cent.

Culturaly, England is great. I dont know much about the rest of the country, but esspecially in the southwest theres loads of old churches, heritage sites, manors, wildlife parks and attractions.

And finally to prove that England rules, we of course, have CIDER! and the Werzels! Point proved.

OK knife down.

If you get the chance you should come, it really is a great place and the countryside is very, very varied. From the rolling downs were I live..

So for GTPUKXV when the boys are 10 and 12, do you think the wife would have a problem with going to the U.K. and looking around by herself while the three of us play GT7? Somehow I don't think that'll fly.

Don't know why? Sounds resonable to me.

I intend to visit the UK as some stage, but gotta get this all-expenses paid trip to the Yooessovah out of the way first.

Almost exctatic actually. Seriously though, if anyone would like to buy me a plane ticket, I would be more than happy to take it...

I thought the UK was like Rand McNally, where people wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people !
What way does the toilet flush their, anyway?:sly:

My UK super toilet fills slightly up with water than it goes down, so my toilet flushes up :)

I had a crumpet for breakfast, with Vegemite. :D
