I've had the game since launch and have checked the forums every now and then, but as you see I'm not exactly one to post. Curiosity has just gotten the best of me, so I have to ask. Why such a high demand for "undriven" cars on here?

What's the difference between an undriven car vs one that's had an engine overhaul and chassis maintenance?

Thanks

Its just a collector thing with me and just another way to enjoy the game. The thrill of the hunt kind of thing, if you will, lol.

What's so special in finding an old car with low miles in it? EVERYTHING! It's awesome.

0/0/0 makes that a bit exagerated, but as said above, it's a collectors thing :) And its one of the things I love about GT5, freedom to collect... lots of variables...

Car mileage is a fun aspect of the game that I take in consideration when I buy a car at the UCD. I tend to keep the lowest mileage ones for cruising and just simple driving and take the beaters to racing.

I much prefer finding a car in the UCD with only a few miles on it than a perfect zero. It feels somehow more special, a well-preserved original rather than a new prize car built for a race winner or specifically for collectors. I never even visit the OCD anymore, even bought my FGT properly used. But then I'm not much of a collector.

True.

I have an special love for high mileage cars. The 300.000km+ ones are lovely to have. Real beaters.

A cool thing to do with 0/0/0 cars, is that you can know exactly the ammount of mileage you did with them. That's good to know when its a car that you like a lot.

There are a few cars I'm always looking for super-high mileage versions too, not sure why but I do find it amusing.

And you just spelled out my main reason for liking some cars at zero miles. But it doesn't matter as much when there are so many ways to drive without adding miles, and of course Bob. I'm actually kind of proud of my 2010 still-stock Camaro that is approaching 3,000 miles. Only car I waited to reach its level to buy. Probably used it for 8 or 10 different A-Spec events too, including two enduros(one de-tuned). Would probably be nearer 4,000 if it included all my Lounge running though.

just like real life, the less mileage a car has the greater it's worth

Yes but in real life you get money which is a lot more useful than a virtual car of 'greater value' ! One collection of pixels has exactly the same amount of value as the next set despite what collection of numbers the dealership throws up next to it! For example, I've been collecting 0/0/0 Audi R8 LMS's and have just 2 of the colours left to get in 0 spec yet they have absolutely 0 value because of the trade restriction.

You all realise it's just pixels in the shape of a zero under the mileage field?

Totaly agree.

Yet despite my thoughts against the idea of a 0/0/0 car being 'worth more', i actualy do collect all the 0/0/0 cars i can find! My reason is like others have stated, the collection, the hunt. Couldn't care less about trading anymore. Havn't updated either of my sigs' for at least half a year now as trading is just irrelevant to me.

*ooh, thousandth post, that makes me a diamond geeza!*

0/0/0 makes a new car from an old one. Whats not to like? The sad part is when you collect you dont drive them (unless you dupe them). Its kinda fun collecting all colors in 0/0 though admittedly I dont collect all cars in all colors, just the ones I really like.

Also there are a few cars (RUFs for example) that the original paint chip doesnt exist and if you repaint or get one in a color you dont like you cant just repaint to a stock color. Because of this the RUFs are a common "All Colors 0/0/0" collector item. It allows the collector to trade them to those who want a specific color to use.

Think of the 0/0/0 collectors as the "New Used Car Dealerships" of the the GT5 Marketplace!

O miles OCD Racecars save the expensive engine and chassis rebuild costs. That's usually 1 million bucks saved. Then go drive 'em.
