I really feel like we're only a year or so away from Microsoft doing the usual corporate thing of spinning Xbox off as its own separate entity, transferring as much debt into it as possible and then pushing it out the door to let it sink. They clearly want to be rid of their gaming division so they can dump those resources into Copilot, but they have to devalue the brand first so shareholders don't raise any eyebrows.
