Lotus Evora, mostly Stock. Handles like a dream. If you tune it, it becomes tailhappy, put slicks on it and you go from beginners car, thats fun, to a expert car.

Start as follows: Stock, than 6-Speed short, than sport suspension.
Than lower the weight once. Than start upgrading the engine plus Tires.

While increasing Tuning level, your driving skills will also get better. This car supports your learning curve. You can use this car fully tuned in the super Car Championship against the S7, Zondas, SLR´s, Lambos and still win. I like it a lot. 👍

I'd still start with the Miata, Civic, and STI/Evo, and then Elise.

You can move onto more powerful and capable cars of the same drivetrain layouts after getting more comfortable like the Z34 (FR), Integra (FF), GTR (4WD), and NSX (MR).

I've had plenty of Gran Turismo experience, so for GT5 I went from the Miata as my 1st car to STI, to GTR, and then to the big boys (e.g., modded 458, Zonda R, etc).

I'd just go online and race some shuffle races if I were you :)
Then just start at the bottom of the "recommended" tab in an online lobby, and move your way up the list :)

I quickly went from a Civic Type R (first car) to an Evo VIII. I had no problems with the Evo advancing through A-Spec whatsoever. Really fun car to drive.

The premium BMW M3. Very easy to drive, very controllable at the limit. Slap on Racing Softs on it, and you'll fly. Also sounds great with a titanium racing exhaust. Put a wing on the back for high speed stability. Not too expensive.
