whats the best turbo, low range, mid range, or high range rpm? and what about any of these vs a supercharger?

depends on the car. usually a supercharger will make more power then a turbo if both are available.

high rpm cars will benefit more from the high rpm turbo, mid from the mid rpm turbo.

low rpm turbo isnt very good.

It really depends on the car. With the AE86 I used the Mid Range Turbo because I didn't have the response or power at low revs. The I used the High Range Turbo for my Celica GT-Four and got perfect power throughout the power band. I never really use the Low Range Turbo because how long are you really in the 1k-3k RPM range? The Supercharger gives good response in the Low and Mid RPM range, and then it's power band is pretty much flat until redline. It's power increase tends to be more than the Mid Range Turbo, but lower than the High Range Turbo. If you have the option to use it, do it, as long as the difference in power isn't that much from the High Range Turbo.

what would you consider a high rpm and a mid range rpm? would high be 8k rpm or mid range be 6k rpm?

I think it depends more on the car your talking about. In my Celica the redline is around 7500, and the High RPM Turbo cuts in around 5K. Were as in my AE86 the redline is around 9500K and it's Mid Range Turbo kicks in around 5K. It's also more about the Torque Power Band, and after you install the FI kit, the HP Power Band. If you have a low torque car, or a car whose torque band really gets goin at 4K-5K I would go with the Mid RPM Turbo, or the Supercharger. If you have a good amount of torque, or a car with torque early I would go with the High Range Turbo, or Supercharger.
