Good 'ol scothc tape doesn't hold well, and looks ugly, while pushpins and thumbtacks don't look good either (they look better than tape, though), and they put holes in the walls. How do you keep up you posters and what's the most effective way?

Although I don't have any posters, my mind instantly jumped to double sided tape. Get some good double sided tape from Home Depot, and it should do a good job (it's sticky enough and it isn't exposed).

Hot Glue gun?

I'd test it with a poster you can replace, on a piece of the wall that isn't in plain sight.

They also used to make special rubber compound that was similar to bubble gum that I've used.

Double sided tape sucks for posters, I usually use two layers of regular scotch tape and press down on it for about a minute. 👍

I use white re-usable tack ("stick'n'flex"). Selotape is annoying because it peels paint off your wall when you take it off. :grumpy:

I use the tac stuff… it's not the greatest (it bleeds through thin posters after a couple of years, and it doesn't hold up well if you have the windows open and there's a strong breeze), but it works well enough.

Would that stuff work if I have a cieling fan on? I have one on pretty much year round.

Hmmm, I'm not sure. The big issue is that the tac stuff works really well on matte surfaces, but has a hard time sticking to shiny ones (like most posters), and I imagine it'd stick to a wooden wall much better than a plastered one. I don't have a single ceiling fan in my house, so I have no clue how strong they are, but I'm assuming it should be fine (by "breeze", I was referring to Santa Ana winds! ;)).

I use frames, especially for rather large posters over 24x36 inches in size. In fact... I recently rearranged all of my picture frames in my room because I received a Formula One poster of the now defunct #14 of Jaguar Racing (from last year, I believe. not positive.) Which driver had #14 last year, Webber or Klien?

I wanted all of the pictures to be neatly arranged. It goes along with my autographed Schumacher picture, too.

On a side note, does anyone have any ideas as to how I could hang a flag on a wall? I've got a rather nice Ferrari flag I'd love to display eventually since I've run out of wall space as of right now. I'd like to still be able to possibly use the flag every now and then.

Velcro, araldite, two-part epoxy resin, staples, a nail gun and then varnish your entire wall/room.

Peel off now, you bastard.

PS
Staple gun. Thats what I use.

Holy ****, dude! I have that exact same Viper poster! The crappy looking Viper RT/10 one. I hate it. It looks like a toy car.

I should be getting a slick GT4 poster soon, but the guy we bought it off of from eBay is a retard.

I use double-sided tape. They very well, in fact the posters in my room lasted well over 3 years using them (Until I tore everything down of course :D)

Webber of course, Klien was #15 :dunce:

I use blue-tac and sometimes sticky tape. I need to get me a few framed posters though, I only have 2 and only one is of motorsport :scared:

lol, I hate that damn pace car.

I also have the same Angelina Jolie poster as Silverzone, and I have the same Bart Simpsons chalkboard quotes one as someone else. One of my favourites, though, is my Marilyn Manson one. Most of my posters are from HMV/Musicworld. It's quite hard finding any good car/motorsport ones. Most of the car pics in my room are from HCI inserts or car calenders (12 in 1!). I also have 3 posters on my ceiling, but I hope to get more.

Framed poster - BMW!

My Manson poster.

[edit]

You can see Doug Gilmour beside Marilyn Manson lol...and beside Doug Gilmour is Brett Hull (my mom's ex boyfriend is his cousin), and above Brett Hull is an ugly purple Chrysler/Plymough Prowler.

In the BMW one, I held that framed one up with a nail. I couldn't figure out any other way...

I only put up authentic movie-posters, which are pretty big (27" x 40"), and I find that any kind of tape will damage both the posters themselves and the paint on the wall as well. Stick-tak stuff always leaves an oily residue on the posters, and it bleeds through from the back to the front where you can see it. Thumb tacks are okay but again you can see them. So my solution, albeit an expensive one, is to Plak all my posters at the local Costco. It costs about $30 CDN for each poster, but they look professional and really awesome when up on the wall, and you only need one good-size nail which you'll never see because the poster covers it.
