Just a passing curiosity. I know it's possible to get some rounds with a shotgun at Game (shooting, fishing) shows, but wondered what's the easiest way to fire Rifles (I have no cause to own) and handguns (illegal) for someone living in the UK.

Not quite sure how the laws in other EU countries work regarding shooting at ranges.

Anyone with any experience?

i'm not from the UK, but from my last visit, i'd say just drive out to the country and make nice with a farmer. i am from a large US city (baltimore and atlanta) and i saw more guns out in the countryside of england than i ever have on the streets of the us...and that's a lot!

I agree, get in contact with a farmer or go to a country show which has a clay shooting range/rifle target range for the public. Since you live in Wales, you're probably not too far from someone who's packing legal heat.

Otherwise you could always travel to Laos or similar and fire M60 machine guns, Magnums, and other dangerous toys for boys.

On a side note, the most expensive and difficult way to go about doing this is to get yourself elected prime minister and change the laws restricting firearms.

Actually I knew a few lads in college who had rifles to their name, but was never particularly friendly with them. Sneaking suspicion they're inbred. Then again one of my good mates in Uni, his grandad runs a farm but never asked if he's shot before.

Nah that's easy, I just have to be racist, against immigration and encourage the council estate masses to vote ;)
