I've seen a proton pick up truck before, and man that was painful.

Ladies and proton owners, i bring you, the Jumbuck!

 Saw a couple of those a few weeks ago and laughed at the name. Only saw it at the back though. I can see it now:

Proton Marketeer 1: "Ok guys we've got to come up with a name for our new pickup. Its got to be as creative as possible to hide the fact it was built from the saloon left-overs and those scafolding poles we nicked from that building around the back"
Proton Marketeer 2: "Hmmm those Americans like their pickups, what would an American Firm call a truck?"
Proton Marketeer 3: "Errr well all the good ones have been taken, how about Jumbuck? It sounds good at first but the more you think about it, the crappier it sounds!"
Proton Marketeer 1: "Wow excellent! It fits the corporate image of Proton cars perfectly!"

Isn't that just a pick up version of one of their saloons?

Yeah looks like its based on a Wira/Persona?

I think the problem is, is that they've dressed it up too much. A Ford Sierra pickup doesn't pretend its anything else but a sierra with a flatbed. Whereas the Proton will probably be marketed towards people that (wish) they had active interesting lifestyles. ;)

Mosler Consulier GTP, USA 1990
Dvoudvéřové dvoumístné kupé, motor uprostřed před zadní nápravou a pohon zadních kol, karosérie z plastů, motor Dodge Turbo Intercooler. Řadový čtyřválec s rozvodem OHC a objemem 2213 cm³, vrtání 87,5 mm a zdvih 92 mm, komprese 8,1, přeplňování turbodmychadlem, výkon 175 kW (238 koní) při 5500 ot/min. Pětistupňová převodovka Getrag, rozvor 2540 mm, vnější rozměry 4369x?x1143 mm, hmotnost 1000 kg, maximální rychlost asi 250 km/h a zrychlení na stovku za 5,1 s.
Vůz Consulier GTP byl prvním modelem značky Mosler. Malosériově se vyráběl od roku 1985 do roku 1995. Žlutý vůz je kupé, červený má snímací střechu Targa.
Snímky jsou z webů majitelů těchto vozů.
From the pictures and what I can decypher of the description, it used a Dodge 2.2l turbo engine. Looks like it was quite a performer, as long as "zrychlení na stovku" means 'zero to sixty' and "maximální rychlost" means 'top speed'.

Hello Mr. Troll, is it damp under that bridge? :D
If you're going to pick on American cars, at least pick legitimatly ugly ones, like... I don't think this has been mentioned yet:
62_DodgeS.jpg

Although I think it's kinda neat.

Driftster: out of curiosity, what beat the C6?

Nope, I think Duke or I touched on the fact that Every 1962 Chrysler product was FUGLY.

ultrabeat, I get the feeling you're joking about those cars you mentioned.

GameBoyFX
lol you should post that on the initial D forums , they would all hate you :sly: but I agree that car is oogly.

Sweet! Missouri plates! I'm in Missouri now, and where I am (Marceline) has a couple lawnmowers and a Dodge caravan painted like the general Lee. THey must think it's cool.

The only thing about the C6 (and, by extension, the C5) that could be called "ugly" is the "flat ass" rear end. And even then, I actually kinda like that feature because it makes it easy as heck to pick out a 'Vette in a crowd. 👍

Dude..... the Corvette had used Four Circular Taillights on every Corvette(with the Ecxeption of 1983) since 1962(or 61). That alone makes it easy to tell what is a 'Vette. What's so hard to Pick a Corvette from a crowd? Almost nothing else looks like one.

The old Fiat Multipla yuk also I did not post up the photo just in case it would give you nightmares.

I'm reasonably sure that there are other cars with that kind of taillight layout, but you're right. Still, I never said there was ever anything hard about picking it out. I just said that the flat rear makes it easy to pick out. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard if it had a different rear design, but still, it's hard to miss that flat ass.

Nightmares? My Dad had one for a year and I had no such things. :)

TVR&Ferrari_Fan
Did he cover it up so you would not get nightmares lol.
Not at all.

The funny thing was sometimes if we stopped behind a car in a traffic jam or at some lights, the kids in the car in front would look at the car and start waving and laughing, so my Dad would flash his headlights at them. It was pretty funny.

Also, after a few weeks from purchasing the car, my Dad got a note under his windscreen wiper saying "Join the Multipla Car Club".

Duke
No way. Disregarding the fact that I actually like it, it can't possibly be considered in the same league as the dogs in this thread.

And I can't post in this thread without another nomination, the '77 Lincoln:

Seriously, one of my fav cars of all time !

"Best Lincoln ever" isn't saying a whole lot, but the Mark V is really cool.

Pimptastic!
I don't think anything really ugly has been posted since page 2.

When I was a kid, I had a Tommy(Japanese hotwheels) car of a Lincoln, just like the one in Duke's picture. I loved it! I can't say it's ugly.
