What's the worst engine sound in GT5?

It just sound like a dull droning sound to me, but I guess people have their own opinions. I think it sounds much better with the sport exhaust.

Actually, i'll take back my word that the Jag S-Type has the worst engine sound because I completely forgot about the i-MiEV.

I'll have to try a sport exhaust at some point... but I think ALL hybrids/electrics sounds like whirring appliances more than cars. Aside from the fact that they all sounds horrible, I think they deserve to be in their own category.

But when it comes to internal-combustion powered cars, as much as I love my Kubelwagen, it sounds utterly like a meat grinder!:ouch:

Same here man, GT5 has some really weird harmonics in it. Weird stuff starts vibrating.

The relatively basic speakers on my TV can't deal with the low end at all in GT5, when some cars change gear I can hardly hear the engine. On 2 older CRT sets it sounds awesome, too bad modern LCDs have terrible tinny speakers unless you spend big bucks.

Might have to plug some spare PC speakers with subwoofer into the headphone socket or connect to the PS3 somehow, did that with my PS2 and worked a charm. I don't have the $ for a home cinema set up for now but this quick fix sounds pretty cool with driving games.

For me its the Tesla roadster. Once i heard it i immediately turned the Tv to mute so i could hear my thoughts:tdown::indiff:

On the other hand, the ford gt lm race car sounds awesome:tup:

The `70 challenger, i bought it and tried all the exhaust`s on it and then sold it in despair. God it`s horrible! The `69 vette with anything other than stock exhaust is terrible! Mini-Roofer the C6 Z06 sounds quite close to real life(actually all the LSX vettes are about spot on for sound)

I hate that iMIEV sound because its like taking a drill to your ears.

But I have to say that the most disappointed I have been is firing up my ZR1 Race Mod. The car DOES NOT SOUND like it should.

The stock 2011 STi sounds... not like the 2011 STi...

Especially noticeable when my ringtone is... the 2011 STi in real life...

Japanese model STis come with a 2.0L engine, a twin scroll turbo, and equal length headers. That last part is what makes them sound the way the do in GT5.

Export models have a 2.5L engine, a single scroll turbo, and unequal length headers. Unequal headers give you that rumble the newer japanese models don't have.

I have an 08 STi in real life and that's what you're probably referring to.

Burn... :dunce:

Sorry, but I had to..

The Peugeot 908 idling it's vintage canal boat noise.....

Needs to sound more like a diesel-powered 908. Actual sound inside the cockpit makes a rattling noise, but the outside makes - well you can describe it.

Here's what it sounds like in real life (ignore the music):

I've got to add the E92 M3.

In real life, it's got a growling, roaring V8 sound and a beefy exhaust note.
In the game... Well, it doesn't sound like a V8. Doesn't sound like a V6 or I6 either. Not even like I4. Hell, it doesn't even sound like a vacuum cleaner. It sounds like an electric tooth brush...

Hmm, any small capacity engine fitted with a CVT. It doesn't sound to bad to others but when YOU drive it, the engine is maxed out the whole time! It sounds like this mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Like a bee on roids. It can get pretty fatiguing. Not so bad on replays and such cause the car comes and goes but if your in the drivers seat, Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

'07 Mustang GT with stainless exhaust. Horrible. Just horrible. You apparently lose 4 cylinders during the upgrade.

The Corvette C6 with RM, it has the generic sound from GT3, nothing like a heavy V8:yuck:

And the i-Miev, it reminds me of a hot-dog in a microwave:crazy:

you mean its not supposed to sound like a supercharged blender? the sounds of the Corvettes in general are one of the reasons this game is so lousy

Ferrari Scuderia when you choose it in the garage and it starts, it sounds like a bag of spanners being thrown. sounds ok when racing but not quite so on turn over.

I'll second that. I feel so bad when I choose to use this car because the start up and idle sound horrible.

That's how a F430 sounds on start up, in real life!

i havnt found a good v8 sound yet, anyone know of any

The Shelby GT350 sounds good to me, even with a titanium exhaust.

I'd have to say the i-Miev is the worst I've heard, but some cars have really badly wrong sounds, that ruin the immersion, usually titanium exhaust is the worst for this and unfortunately when you RM a car you have no other choice of exhaust, so you have to live with the wrong sound out of the car.

The 370z sounds nothing like the real thing, and the stupid exhausts don't change the sound at all. I thought PD had a love affair with Nissan, what gives?

Also, the LFA doesn't sound right to me. It sounds way to high and frail. I feel like none of the cars have enough throat and punch. Not even the little guys. I don't blame my speakers either, they're THX certified Logitechs.
