Yeah, I expect typical responses from non-American fans, but seriously: Why are these cars such pigs? So far I've gotten the Mustang (The most responsive street car), Viper, ZO6'Vete & Camaro racer. Acceleration is fine. T.C. means I don't have to "tap dance" my Viper out of corners anymore. But turning & braking? AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! Toe in, out. Spring rates, etc. etc..... I can't seem to get these cars in line. Does anyone have any adjustment tips?
F.Y.I. I drive very aggressively. That's how I got my name. I'm working on my S lisence now. I'm lucky to get 2 hrs. a day for this.

P.S. Bring back the Taisan STP Viper! How about a Neon w/Turbo option or better NA upgrades?

Thanks. :banghead:

Well, muscle cars aren't exactly know for their turning.

American cars aren't known for handling. They're known for raw power and big engines which drink gallons and gallons of gasoline. It isn't very efficient, but compared to the Japanese cars, they're old technology. I mean, just look at the Cadillac Sixteen. Who will drive it since gas prices are so high right now? It doesn't make sense. The American cars are just mastering old technology and not improving much at all.

I told you, Corvettes and Mustangs don't have good turning because they were built for power...

RVDNuT374 probably answered your question best:

PD programmed the non-Japanese cars to drive like garbage.

There's a distinct bias towards Japanese cars in the game, not only in number but also in handling.

Also, you're having troubles with the Corvette? Even in the "dumbed-version" in the game, it still has very nice handling, very balanced... what problems are you having with it?

american cars just suck, it's that simple. :trouble:
A Dodge SRT-4 will kick any little ricer's butt. Comeback, please?

I dissagree.
The Corvette Z06 performs much better than the majority of the equivalent Japanese cars and handles much better under tuning. Same with the viper GTS.

Look I took the Vette Z06 and tuned it to about 480bhp and I was able to beat the JGTC cup with it so they can't be that bad.

As for the Mustang, err well thats a mustang.

Also if the corvette was built primarily for power why was it entered in Le Mans?

Don't get me wrong, I am still a huge fan of cars from Japan.

Yeah, but the SVT Cobra R can cut 1.0g on street tires. And the ZO6 is one of the sweetest cars out there. This is real life, why doesn't it carry through in the game? Also, the Vipers have alwavs needed work to run tight, but I've won MANY races in GT 1 & 2 in all the Vipers.

Look, could we not start a 'My honda is better than your Ford' argument.

Look, all cars have their advantages and disadvantages so could we please just stop judging cars from their place of origin.

Yes some cars are misrepresented in GT3.

I find the American cars need just as much work to perform adequately as all the other manufacturers in the game.

Some of the Japanese cars are pretty crap too you know...but they are still similar to real life performances...I think maybe someone could actually comment on a difference from real life if they had actually DRIVEN a Corvette or a Viper...maybe Rumple could help here.

It would be better to look at someone who has driven their car in track conditions.

As for the Japanese cars being crap, Just look at the Nissan 300zx, god that car I just can't get it to stop oversteering at all. The Supra took some taming and I only took it to 400 bhp.

Have you changed the levels of braking on the brake controller?
(you probably have, making me look like an arse)

Come to think of it, I had a worked-up Zonda that I promptly hated, expensive piece of crap, glad I didn't buy it. My TT runs fine. All my Japanese cars are fine, though my V-Spec II needs to be shoved around.

Yeah, the Zonda has the worst brakes in the game.
Described by one of our members as 'Rice pudding for brakes'

If you need settings go to www.gtvault.com
I would give you mine, but there probably crap.

You're welcome mate.

Oh and welcome to GTplanet, y0!
:D

Don't underestimate the Z06, IMO it is one of the most versatile cars in the game.

GT3 is a:
Japanese game
Made partially for Japanese people
to show the superiority of Japanese technology
by making Japanese cars better than all the other country's cars.

I've said it a hundred times, PD is a Japanese Company, the game was designed with a bias toward the "home boys".
The Mustang and the Vette, require extensive tuning to "get in the game" with cars like the RX-7, and RX-8 (arguably the best cars, handling wise, in the game). But I wouldn't refer to either of those cars as "Muscle Cars". (Muscle cars are lightweight cars that are optimal for "stoplight to stoplight" confrontation. Like the Big-Block GTO of the '60's, and the SS Chevelles, and even the Plymouth GTX, and the Olds 4-4-2. But that's for another thread.)
My big disappointment was in the Skylines.
I LOVED the Skylines in GT2. I made it a point to get the GTS-4, the R32, R33, R33, Mine's Skylines, etc.
In GT3, the Skyline has to be made to behave like a RWD car to be remotely drivable.

the mustang is one of the nicest cars u will ever find if u ever drive one then they made it so much of a POS
PD has to realize that this is being sold around the world with many many people buying this and they need to make it fair
i mean a mustang dunt have all that body roll
and a viper does have an over steering problem(i dont think so anyways)

Since I would rather shave my butt and walk around backwards with a banana stickingout of my ass then drive a Civic I can't really help you out too much there. I will tell you though that I did have a brand new vette and I returned it to the dealership after a month because the lack of power was just astonishing. My Viper handles like a dream and has tons of power, but i don't really have much to base it on other than my aston martin or my Sl600. My old lighting felt like it handled better in the corners than my vette to me plus it was faster

Race Idiot; Thanks again for the link. Got my ZO6 workin' pretty good now. The gear ratios were very helpful, too. Really woke up the engine. Tuning gets harder w/ each new version, guess that's par for the course.
Seems you're an Aussie. What do you think of the Monaro, soon to be the U.S. GTO? Think it'l ever get into the game?

Isn't the GTO already out??? I hope they put in the Monaro, hopefully the 7.0 litre racing version...and a GTS Coupe for fun. :D
