What's up with these harsh menu loading times

Everytime I go on the main menu it takes like.. 5-10 minutes to load the cursor then even longer to get on my GT page!

I've cleared my Cache, restarted my PS3. I really didn't pay £250 for all my setup for it to be taking so long.

Anyone got any fixes?
 
Sounds like your net connection problem.

When you think about it, it's quite realistic.

For example, if you were going to a used car dealership in real life, it could take 10 minutes to drive there.
It really depends where you live.

It's your hard drive bro trust me. I had the same situation. Loading times took at around 3-5 minutes and the cursor would take forever to move. I tried clearing my cache, restoring default settings, formatting my hard drive, playing offline and nothing worked. I changed and upgraded my hard drive to 7200rpm and the game improved dramatically. I noticed that hard drives becomes faulty after being used extensively.

Wow only 3 month old? From this point, I don't know the problem bro. The only thing I could think of is your hard drive becoming faulty. Dude I'll help you rob a bank :lol: jk

Yea you can swap hard drives in any ps3. Your PS3 is currently running 5400 rpm.
 
Let's hope the PS4 offers a better HDD, huh?
 
Damn right, in the past 2 months I've had my controller, headset and keypad mess up, now my freaking PS3 itself, think I'm going back on my xbox until the ps4 release

Its sounding more like user error. I've had my ps3 over 12 months. Used it religiously and my load time is no more than 5-6 minutes.
 
But when you pay £250 for a new PS3, you expect it to last longer than 3 months

Oh yeah, If it's my hard-drive surely it'd effect other games, right?

I can play BF3, WRC, DIRT, Final Fantasy XIII(1)-2 with no problems at all

It should.

Just two quick questions:
- With playing offline you mean playing on a PS3 which is not loged into PSN or connected to the internet at all? If not, then pull the internet cable.

- You have the latest 2.12 update? Or at least one of the newer versions?
 
When I play offline it means I have no connection at all anyhow

I believe I am playing with latest update
