What's with everyone running the same cars over and over and over!!
There's 1000 cars in this game if I'm not correct!
What's everyone's opinion? or is it just cos I'm bored??

LOL I've completely minced this I meant One Make Racing all the time!!

I'm guessing you're bored. I think I run the same 10-15 cars, mainly because I tinker with their settings constantly and are never truly satisfied enough to move on juuuuuust yet.

To each their own.

I'd prefer that then the same one car over and over and when i mean one car I mean SAME ONE CAR!!

I use the same few cars, I think its mainly because i am used to the speed and how they handle (and looks)..
Although i agree there over 1000 cars for a reason, i may start buying more. :)

Hey alvin man yeah after being offline for so long and not touching GT5 then jumping in that certain car man you gotta learn to crawl before you walk ya know!!!!

I think we just love to drive with the cars that we like....
I have all the cars in the game but i didnt drive with 90% of them

Yeah you going to be on at about 4pm cause I'll be trolling I mean rolling in my evo 6.5 if my net holds. I have a feeling that's my car.

Can't speak for others, but I tend to drive the same cars "over and over" when I go online because it takes awhile to get a car tuned and worked the way I'd like. I only take those cars online that I feel comfortable with, in other words. I'm not going to drive a car that hasn't been developed if I'm racing other humans and I need to get all I can get.

Takes a while to get a car "just right", or people have a favorite car or two, or people think it's the fastest car they have and want to win every race. I have a handful, maybe a dozen cars, that I drive 90% of the time and the rest of my garage gets used for a few laps when I feel like something different.

Yup. You know what I'm talking about. :) I'm not going to just jump into a car if it doesn't drive the way I'd like. It must be developed first.

I paid good money for my game so i will play how i see fit 👍

I actually drive whatever I'm in the mood for, even if it handles like crap. Using the same few cars over and over gets very stale for me.

I wish there were more people online who would try something different. There are some cars I haven't even seen online. You guys know you want to bust out them '63 Skylines and such!

I actually have driven a few oddballs myself, but (like I said) I'm not about to drive such autos if I'm going to get pwned with every turn.

Getting a car setup the way you like takes time... add to that the fact that people naturally prefer certain cars... that's why people like to use the same car over and over.

It's no big deal really, you pay your money and play the way you like.

When I first went online, I liked to try different cars, but then I realised I was getting my ass kicked by people who obviously had spent time developing and driving their 'babies'.

When offline, I like to have a go with cars I've never touched (over 1000 to choose from now, thanks to the out®age) and now we're back in the world, the Seasonals are a good spot for this sort of experimentation.

What does 'pwned' mean? I thought it was a typo the first time, but now I'm not so sure.

I have a few hundred car's but there is definitely one I stick to most and it's my LP640.I just like it alot.Rear downforce sucks though, wonder why they made the spoiler retract at >140mph when it's needed most.

Sorry guys I don't think I explained myself
I meant the same one car for everyone lol
Yea it's cool if the racing is close but if not it's either you're on it or WAY off it
What I'm saying is what's every ones opinion on one make racing all the time??

It turns out you meant something completely different from the implication you made in the OP :D

One-make racing's great fun - and it pretty much ensures bumper-to-bumper racing for 50 laps!

EDIT: And if you fancy some then sign up for WLR's Clubman Cup, the season FINALLY gets under way next Sunday... with everyone in RM Lexus IS-Fs ;)

What does 'pwned' mean? I thought it was a typo the first time, but now I'm not so sure.

It was a typo error some time back, but now is commonly used. It should have said owned but the person who did the error put a p instead of an o and it is now often used.

One make races are fun, especially when it's really competitive between you and someone else. Helps to get rid of everything but the people behind the wheel.

I try to find consistant cars to race with. Most performance point levels have a huge gap in lap times - I have 17 cars at the moment that I normally drive, but trying to get that to 30 has been the challenge. If I can get around a circuit in a specifed amount of time (usually set by other cars with the same pp) I will add it to the list. Lets face it, there some dogs out there - 1000 cars yes, 1000 GOOD cars, no.

Most people use the same cars over and over because they can't compete with any other cars. These are usually the people that drive R35s, Super Veloces, Italias, and NSXs.

No skill means no verity.

I race EVOs and NSXs again and again but what the OP means it one-make racing again and again not even a change in the one-make cars. Say people race NSXs they never change to a different car they only drive NSXs.

You said it, not me. :sly:

One problem I think is that some cars aren't that great even when modified and tuned. PP doesn't address things such as power band, so even if they are matched in PP points one car could be getting a big shaft. So when it comes to competition, I think most people would rather drive something that is tried, tested, and true competitively then be left in the dust online, like the NSX.

Think.
How long would it take to tune all 1000 cars to settings you're happy with?! Forever.

I have about 100 fully tuned cars with settings that I have worked on since I've had the game, that's taken months.
Out of that 100 cars, I only use around 20 of them for online racing because the other 80 are either too slow, drift cars or I gave up tuning them.

this ^^^ so true.

but i will say sometime if im in a room with less experienced drives i will pull out one of my pigs and see how i do, usually not well :P

i like bringing out the 427 s/c and holding a continual slide the whole race :dopey:
