Whats with the dodge dart?

Ventured online last night, must say was a blast, but by Gosh why was the dodge dart steam rollering us all by quite some margin?!

OK so FM3 had celica and S5, but as much as i hated them at least you could IRL make them pretty unbeatable, but an old whale RWD yank tank?!! do me a favour..... a glitch car i presume?? :scared::banghead:
 
Yeah, I did a full mile drag with a dude who had a tuned one. I think it even had a few less PI than my Vernon SS. And he'd win by a few seconds.

Maybe drag slicks are a little generous? Lots of power and little weight make for an excellent combo though.
 
All well and good in a drag race................but i was racing around Silverstone!!!!!

No way in hell should that Dodge dart rinse it round a race track. Glitch car for all the noobs to drive, also he smashed his way to the front.

Love Forza, hate cheaters online.
 
Because a car happens to be fast, its a glitch? That car is light. The Veyron probably weighs twice as much. I know the stock Veyron handles terribly. Have no idea if your SS is tuned or if it is much better stock.
 
I agree with Eric. The Veyron is a tank! No amount of rear bias will actually make that pig handle. Though I haven't tried the Super Sport yet.
 
Could we get a little more information that "Dodge dart is very fast"?

Like what class was it, what Silverstone layout was it, was the guy just very good?

I've seen people dominate the grid in Cycled Production. Some people are just mind bogglingly fast. And sometimes people have tunes specifically for a track. If the Silverstone layout you were on happened to compliment the Darts abilities, it only makes sense that he would be quick than a generic tune.

I mean, for an extreme example, the Ultimate Aero dominates Lemans without the chicanes in R3, but you'll be left so far behind by actual race cars you won't even see the dust on a tight twisting track like Fujimi.
 
The problem is, light or not, two cars of similar PI should be similarily fast around a given track. Sure, some cars are always going to fit a certain track better than others, but, from what I've seen, it seems like the Dart is, indeed, a leaderboard car in C-Class, across different tracks.

Personally, I expected nothing else. There's always going to be something like this with a system like Forza's PI... I'm just glad that there isn't a plethora of these cars, all of which share some distinct features - like the AWD cars in FM3.

Sure, it's not cool to have that happen, no questions asked. And seeing a Dodge Dart, of all things, be a LB car sure is unusual when you're coming from FM3, but it at least sounds better when it overtakes you, compared to, say, an S5... :D
 
I've noticed alot of American muscle at the top of leaderboards, and I do have a theory. They've fixed the AWD problem by giving it higher PI, but I think this may have given an advantage to some RWD cars.
 
Are we talking about drag racing?? If so the Dart probably should be the fastest drag car in the game. After all that's what the factory car was built for specifically.

This part I don't really agree with. Fairly sure my A class Lotus Exige shouldn't be close to as fast around a track like this:

Compared to my A class Camaro.

Silverstone, on every layout, is one of those tracks that heavily favors cars with higher top speed and acceleration. So I'm just curious about what the cars strengths are.

I agree with everything other than the Dart being OP as well. Not saying you're wrong, just saying I'd rather not take someone's word for it, even if it is someone who's usually correct about these things.

I think I'll wait to see it for myself, or at least until it's dominating the leader-boards with a considerable gap.

I haven't taken a very in-depth look at it, either, so I'm not sure on the whole matter myself... I'm just going by some early impressions myself. I've seen numerous Darts at the top of tracks like Laguna Seca, Silverstone and others - I'll check it again once I get home.

it didn't seem as bad as the LB cars in FM3, though.
 
OK last night was in class B, i'm in CIVIC 07 tuned to 500 PI, the varies from Lancia delta to a cozzie, we are all close and having a blast where as the dodge dart smashes his way to front then procedes to disapear. Watching replay i saved he gets a massive boost off the start line, smashed to the front by first corner then blazed everyone which reminded me of FM3 with dorks in S5's.

Also leaderboards are full of dodge darts, just check them out.
For me first sign of a dodgy glitch car are the fact the driver has to smash people to get to the front then just wins based on the fact the car is unrealistically faster than everyone else.

Not sure if its related but on the replay the dodge darts front wheels dont look right asnd they look like its understeering round the corners ??
 
It's probably converted to AWD and four-wheel drifting through some of the corners. The AWD swap would also explain the high pace it has off the line.

Agreed, i'm talking on a race track with corners racing against race tuned car like Sierra cozzies lancia deltas and my civic 07.

It just looked glitched to me. No disrespect to USA retro muscle cars, but their strengths weren't cornering. The dodge dar is a drag car not a thorough bred track car. Thats all i'm saying. Something IS wrong IMO. I really cant be bothered preping my cars to race online if someone in a dodge dart can win by over 15 seconds over 3 laps!

Cant get on FM.net at work but google 'dodge dart forza 4 glitch' and you'll see the threads.

will look into it properly tonight at home.

Dont want to sound like a bad loser (or Jason Plato) but i dont want cheats ruining online AGAIN.

Yes the Dart is light with a lot of HP and very wide rear tires. And it takes quite a bit of skill to drive for sure.

I have a drag tune in my storefront that is perfect for the monthly hopper. 498hp RWD. Its A class but will keep right up with S class cars on the drag strip. You have to launch it at 2,800 rpm with manual clutch. It does do a lot better in the straights for sure but can hold its own on corners with the right driver.

Its a glitch car, well the one on the leaderboards and the one smashing class D C and B...sorry.
 
I think it's pretty fast I did a 8.966 in the 1/4 mile Sodona Drag Strip last night ( and that was with an auto ) working on the manual shifting still.

You are correct that original STOCK retro muscle cars didnt corner well. BUT add some modern upgrades to a muscle car like suspension and brakes and it can handle suprisingly well. Long gone are the stereotypes that muscle cars cant perform on road tracks. There are many muscle cars out there with performance parts that will destroy modern cars for 1/2 or even 1/4 the price.

I road track my real life 69 Camaro against Corvettes, Porsche, WRS STI, BWM and many other modern cars and I have no problems at all keeping up and passing them. So just because its a muscle car, does not mean it cant do well on road tracks.

Very true.

Corvette have been a dominating force in it's class in the ALMS for quite a few years now.
 
Uhm guys, this isn't about whether muscle cars can be fast on a given track. It's about a car using the PI system to its advantage. This could be understandable if a car that was specifically built by its manufacturer to compete as a drag car was too good at drag racing.

However, the Dart is dominating everything. And the idea of the whole PI system is to prevent exactly that. This whole thing is in place to make sure that there is no dominating force in FM4, and it failed (again).

As I said, it was to be expected, and I'm not too sure on the extent of the issue. If the Dart is the only car that's that much of a problem, we might see a patch and LB wipe, soon.
 
Strange. From what I can see the Cobra is the dominating car. I dont even own one but its all over the leaderboards.
 
I understand that US muscle cars can be demon race cars, need only look at the UK track scene for classic 'mini v's muscle' in old BTCC.

Anyway i digress, i was just worried that the Dodge Dart maybe be a glitch car and seems i am correct, its currently dominating the B class online, which is a shame. More so as its a drag car and not some old muscle car racer.
Once this happens it just renders online frustrating to say the least.
 
Well they plan to reset the leaderboards soon anyway because they lowered the drag tire traction last Thursday the 13th. So maybe they will work on any unbalanced cars.
 
I picked the Dodge Dart as my prize car but haven't driven it yet. Bringing up the affinity level in another Dodge so then I'll go all out and make a drag monster, both RWD and AWD, even though I'll probably keep it more towards RWD.
