I have Forza 3 and GT5, I haven't touched Forza 3 since putting GT5 in the PS3.... maybe I should go try it out again? NO WAY!:dopey:

I have mostly the same issues with GT5, but I have come to accept it for what it is. Sure, I wanted it to be all it promised to be, what with all the official licences, damage, online, "improved" AI etc. but sadly it failed to deliver.

That said, it is still a joy to tune cars, lap the Nordschleife and take photos of beautiful cars so even if that's all I enjoy doing in the game, it still has it's place in my collection. Maybe GT6 will realise PD's full potential...

At the moment though I am back on F1 2010 for a bit of excitement ahead of the grand prix this weekend 👍

More of the same s**t? If you dislike the game and can't enjoy, stop playing then, stop posting all this crap, im sick of it. Always some forum, saying how bad GT5 is and in comparison to other games, bad luck, deal with it! I'm probably the only person to have expected GT5 to be how it is, the only thing i didn't expect was the standard cars(and ive learned to live with it).

i think the main part of gt5 that isnt "exhilirating" is the way the a-spec races are. The ai isnt very fun to drive against, and the game always seem to put 1 ridiculously fast car that outclasses all the others, so you basically need a car that matches that 1, and most of the races end up being a 1 on 1 race. Online racing is good fun and all but my wifi doesnt seem very stable for some reason so i cant enjoy that all the time. Believe me i love gt5 and have owned every gran turismo, but the ai of gt5 in most of the a-spec races isnt very well made. They are very passive and seem to drive a strict line and almost dont realize you are there and bump into you. Ive had a few heart pumpers like the historic racing cup, but i think the a-spec could have been more enjoyable, seems more of an obstacle and you want to do it to get a new car or level up, instead of to race. In games like f1 2010 and dirt 2 i had an extreme amount of fun racing the ai, and sumtimes didnt even mind not placing 1st. The rest of the game is pretty darn good if you ask me.

Everyones going to call me stupid for this but I really dont play this game anymore because so many things are straight up missing. So after completing nurbring 24 hour in a spec i sold the game my ps3 and my dfgt wheel.

Its nothing to do .
Online sucks
And i felt like i was robbed at the end of the day because Pd never produces what it says it will

And even after all the patches i am still not satisfied with Gt5. Maybe it was because i was disappointed from the start

Im surprised you made it to lvl 40 a-spec, if it was that boring. Its taken me 3 months to get to 37. And you got bored only after completing the game?? Something seems suss here.

Yeah OP...it's just you. Sell the ps3 to someone who will enjoy it and go play Forza with the other arcade racers.

Your so LAME:sly: your trying too hard.👎

Actually, he's not, he made valid points...it's ok that your trying to defend Forza...many people here do. But it would be easier if you would leave the forums and talk in the Forza forum.

Ok i have been playing this game on and off now for what? Since release date. There is just something about the controls off the car that doesn't manage too excite me.
*The carphysics looks awesome
*The camerashake of interior view is very good.
*In the cars seem too handle pretty realisticly.
Believe me i've tried too enjoy it, because i bought the ps3 for it. I have put quite a view hours in this game.

Yet i find it hard too get immersed in the game as the driving and racing aspect off this game is not fun or exciting. Maybe its because i use a ds3. But i also use a controller with Forza and thats like ten times more immersive and give better feedback on bodyroll and grip levels etc. I have about ten reacingames and both consoles so i do have some comparible tech.

I STILL have more fun racing and driving in Forza 3. It's the only game that can be named in the same breath as Gran Tursismo. I remember everyone saying it was gonna blow Forza out off the water but it did not and only solidified The Forza series as the new king. We have yet too see what Shift 2 will be like as a package. Shift 1 sucked, the only way too fix it is the ability too tone down the shakiness. But in a couple of months we can see the Forza 4 vs GT5 reviews up. I cant wait for all the trolling.

Anyway the post is about why Gt5 is not enjoyable IMO.
*Ai seems too also play a big role in this.
*The absence of Proper damage modeling and simulation.
*Track specific physics.
*No save tune option for tracks.
*Photomode made too complicated.
*Stupid wait after every menu transition.
*No brake upgrade.
*No 60 frames a second. the best it does is 40 to 50 on some tracks. I have yet too find a game that runs as smooth as Forza on 60 frames.
*The UCD only 300 cars availeble at any given moment.
*Redbull X1. nuff said.
*Car selection missing cars that SHOULD be in a game off this caliber. Koeniggseg, F50, F50 GT, F40 LM, MC12, Reventon, 360 stradale, A premium Veyron, Porsche carrera GT, E30.
*Absence of Real TopGear testrack camera view. just stupid.
*Not too speako ff the shadows, smoke and dirt.
*No side view of the car while driving.
I will have a lot off fun with the coming

Forza 4 since i'm still playing Forza i only completed 72,23%.
I think it will be able too do pitstops F1 style with Kinect, like augmented reality. I think T10 can make something epic this time around now that Gt5 wasn't what everyone expected off it. I mean common the Hype was big and everyone was claiming it was going too 's epic,huge,timeless....wow it now catching dust after completing A-spec and a lil B spec buit that 🤬 was weak 🤬🤬.

Just so you know, how your eyes work, 30 FPS and 60 FPS is percieved the same way.

and by that I mean that there is barely ANY noticable difference going from 30 to 60.

Yet another whine thread, with invalid points, haters hatin' and fanboys flamin'...

I'm not a hater or a fanboy. I think the simulator part of the game is exellent, and that's all the more reason why I can't suppress my disappointment in the *game* part. Three changes, two of which would be super-easy, would make this the best driving game that has ever existed.

1.
Problem: About all the a-spec races are completely pointless. Your car/tyres is almost always not limited at all, the rival cars' performances vary way too much. After trial and error you may find a car that gives a challenge against the horrible AI, but normally there is one AI car that is much faster than others. Your choices: a) race against most of the opponents with a slower car, no chance of winning. b) pick a car that can reach the fastest AI car, plow through the pitiful opposition and fight for the victory.
Solution: Strict limitations for every race. Examples: GTI-championship, 200hp or less, sports hards, FF-drivetrain. Supercar challenge, streetlegal car, sport softs, 2 classes: max 600hp and max 800hp. Group-C championship, Racing cars '88-'92, racing meds, 800-1000hp.
Instead of these we get "race in any japanese car with any tyres against random opponents". The one responsible for this fail should be fed to the pigs...

Oh, of course. Enter the "it's not a racing sim, it's a real driving sim"-fanboy-idiots. YOU CAN ONLY DRIVE ON RACING TRACKS AND THE ONLY FUN IS RACING! IT IS A *RACING* GAME!!1

(Such preset races for online would also make finding a good race like eleventybillion times easier)

2.
Problem: Rewards. Game gives way too little money for completing races, and most of the prize cars are insults.
Solution: Atleast double the prize money (x10 for enduros), and replace prize cars with prize tickets with which you can *select a car you want*. Example: You have won the 500hp 4WD championship: Open the prize ticket and choose a DTM or JGTC car from the list. You get a new ticket every time you wit the race and you can also sell it for cr immediately.
Instead of getting another pickup from the pickup race(, or the Midget)... FACEPALM PD!!1

3.
Problem: AI
Solution: Make it better?

Point 3 is the "not so easy" point to fix. Others require merely changing the menus. Other games have decent AI's, this is not too much to ask.

These three points are the only ones PD'd need to access. Photomode, standard cars, bugging shadows, unrealistic horsepower amounts, incorrect amound of wheel lugs, and everything else is completely trivial in comparison to these flaws.

What a nice rant post I managed to make... gotta save this for future use and start to post it in every whinethread. :sly:

I tried forza 3 for comparison yesterday with turbo S wheel. All i can say is that physics are so terrible in forza 3 that i had to quit after two laps. Porsche boxer engines sound however still very good in Forza.

Photomode being too complicated is a load of nonsense

But GT5 is what it is, regardless of updates it is going to remain mostly the same. Will have to say though, driving physics in GT5 are a lot better than in Forza 3, and atleast for me the driving physics are very important when it comes to enjoyment.

I havent purchased a camera in years (10+) and I have no problems with the photomode. It's just trial and error, or maybe the next patch should have a disposable camera mode?

As for GT5 itself, I've read other people saying that the game was shipped incomplete which I can understand hence the updates every so often. I paid for this game because of it's history as a great "Driving Simulator" and it does exactly that for me.

Not knocking you Bazz, just going off what you were saying :sly:👍

Yes, but this topic is really getting boring since there are many many many similiar threads already complaining about gt5, so i understand that some gets frustrated on threads like these... like me.

Just my 2 cents. :)

People really are beating the complaint department to death. Don't like it, give it to a friend, sell it, use it as a coaster, use it as a ninja star or a rearview mirror ornament...etc. Just move on to greener pastures.

There actually is a side view. You have to map it to your right analog stick, its marked, "Look Left/Right" or something along those lines.

I'm not liking GT5 very much either, personally I think it's the worst game in the series, reletively speaking. The only thing I'm still enjoying after a few months is online racing with a select few good drivers, if it wasn't for that I would give up on GT5 altogether.

:)

No need to be so condescending. I understand the concept of licensing, thanks. But it still sucks that if I want to drive a virtual Porsche on my PS3 I'm stuck with a crappy arcade racing game like NFS and even then I still can't use the 911's I really like.

Has there ever been a decent explanation about why Forza can get Porsche but GT cannot?

That said, I'm not a "hater" by any means. There are plenty of things I do like about the game.

I wasn't trying to be condescending, but when you use the word "silly" it makes it sound like it was an oversight or some stupid flaw on PD's part that was easily rectified. There have been several threads devoted to why Porsche is not in GT5. Based on info from Kaz and Porsche, the issue seems to be that EA (who holds the Porsche licensing rights and sublicensed to T10 for Forza) is unwilling to extend this to PD. Kaz has said repeatedly he wants Porsche in the game but "due to licensing issues" have been unable to secure rights.

So i guess you don't appreciate the next generation graphics then?? Does anyoje care about the graphics and 3D??? Hmmm? The only thing wrong is the shadows, and thats because ps3's don't have anti-aliasing.

I think it's because PS3 and X360 have 5-6 year old hardware. Some here has noted if GT5 came out 2-3 years ago people would be more amazed by GT5 graphics but now there are a lot of games that max out the HD console's hardware. There is only so much can be done with 512mb of total ram as well.

These kind of threads could often be sum up as someone writing "I'm a huge Forza fan , GT5 is not Fm3 so I'm disappointed"
I enjoy both Forza and GT series for different reasons and I'm glad they are different.

The problem I have is GT5 is NOT a big game.

Its a relatively small game with GT4 and GTPSP ported over.

A shortcut so big people don't even see it as a shortcut.

GT5 has as many cars as there are premiums. All others don't belong here.

1000+ cars. Really?

200 brilliant ones.
A few nice standards.
And a whole lot of crap bundled in.

The tracks look nice though. The old ones.

I'm not being a troll. It's the truth. And why this took 5 years is beyond reason.

I don't know what your reasoning for a short game is, but GT5 is NOT a short game...

Your so LAME:sly: your trying too hard.👎

Trust me I have more but those are the main things that Separate GT5 from FM3. If you can't handle the truth then don't bother replying cause I also have MORE points that are just little nit-picking apart the "Definitive Racing Simulator" of this gen.:sly:

Now
If people don't like GT5 that is nice go back to playing something else we all know GT5 isn't perfect hell it is far from it, but it is still closer then any other console can provide.

What i do not get is, a lot of folks hate, "do not like" and/or disappointed in GT5 and yet they are still posting in this forum. What gives?

When i got disappointed in shift, i sold the game and stopped reading forums about it, did the same with grid.

I don't know what your reasoning for a short game is, but GT5 is NOT a short game...

I like GT5 for what it has given me, which is hundreds of hours of enjoyment and what I hope will be lots more time as well.

With that said, as the game shipped, and even with the recent selection of seasonal events, there is to me a lack of singleplayer content. Sure there are hundreds of hours of play to go through, but there is not a lot of variety in there. There is(and it was worse pre 1.06) a lot of repetition that shouldn't be there. It is great that they gave you a host of diversions to fill time, but that doesn't justify the slim pickings in single player to fill a career with.

When you add that into things like the broken tire wear(which is a huge sin in a driving/racing game and should have been patched by now), and horrid AI and the game is not only short, but came up short.
