What's wrong with LMP1 cars in GT7?

Yesterday i made a custom race at Le Mans, i was driving a 2010 Peugeot 908 while my opponent a 2011 Audi R18, two cars that actually raced against each other at the 2011 24h of Le Mans, but strangely once i got on the Hunadieres straight my Peugeot totally annihilated the audi, although these two cars should, more or less, have the same pace, so i decided to test every LMP1 car we have in game (except the GTR-LM, since it never raced with the hybrid system we have in GT7) to see if they actually are realistic, here's what i found out.

Things you should know

  • Lap times were taken with soft tires.
  • Lap times were taken at first try, so they can still be a bit lower, but they are still decently fast.
  • Since i could find only top speed datas measured in race i used slipstream from other cars to verify top speed in custom race.

As you can see many cars appear to be slower than their real life counterparts, especially in top speed, i'd like to understand what's the problem with these machines, if there's any.

Maybe you guys already know the issue:cheers:

Thank you

Significant differences (relevant on high speed tracks) if you ask me.

Arent there many other examples of questionable specs/performance? E.g. wrong top speed of the Plymouth Superbird. Would love to see a list of all wrong specs/data in GT7.

I can say for one that the 2016 R18 ran a very unique low-downforce version for Le Mans and other high speed tracks in the WEC, but in GT7 it's the high downforce variant, so the top speed would definitely take a hit compared to its real life counterpart.

The LMP1-H's had their electric motors severely gimped in an older update so they could be balanced against the non-hybrid cars and have a far more consistent supply of battery. They used to be rated at 88x PP stock with 1200/1800 downforce, then 1100/1400 after that update, then 86x at 900/1200 today.
Oreca ran the 908 HDi in 2011, NOT the 908 (big distinction here, the 908 was built to the 2011 regulations and had a V8 engine), and it was severely nerfed to the point where they lost nearly 6 seconds at Spa and 11 at Le Mans from last year. So the 908 HDi being faster than the R18 is accurate. Try running the cars at Spa.

Yh i was thinking tok about 2011 rules being the reason for the nerf of the Peugeot.
About hybrid cars i think nerfing them was a pretty stupid choice, they are way too slower on straights.
