I've been able to get an 8.977 for the 0-400m in the Polyphony Digital F1 car. Can't seem to get below 8.9 no matter how I try.

My best time with the Mercedes Benz C9 Sauber is pretty much the same.

My best Top Speed so far was achieved with a Ruf CTR2 @ 466.20km/h

I can feel that the CTR2 has more there, but I can't harness it without either running out of straight or running out of nitrous :(

Any other times/speeds? I'd like to try out the Audi R8 or the Bentley but I have yet to complete the 24Hr Le Mans races... after doing the Nurburgring 24 Hour, I really don't feel like exerting myself too much :P

don't like em don't use em!simple as that some people want emspme don't.some people don't like tuning so they could start posting get rid of all tuning and then youd get annoyed.look at it diffeent peoples perspectives before you start dissing other peoples likings.:sheesh

So I take it the RUF's are good competition in this game? In Gran Turismo 2 I didn't really like any of the RUFS since they wouldn't go that fast when compared to some of their Japanese counterparts. With an NSX I could beat it easily, not to mention a Skyline. Always thought that was a pretty bad deal for a tuned Porsche which already was quite fast when it left the factory.

The BMW v12 LM has better handling than either the Bentley or R8, it is better on tires too...but both the Bentley and R8 are faster, even when all three are tuned correctly for a given circuit.

Of the three the R8 is the most versatile. The Bentley is the fastest in a stright line but really is built for the high speed sweepers of LeMans and really suffers on tighter circuits. The BMW v12 excells on tighter circuits, though the R8 is still faster over a long haul.

Specifically at LeMans...the Pescarolos are the fastest open wheel LMP1 cars, while the Sauber C9 is the fastest closed seater (though I prefer the bentley personally)...the R8 holds it's own though and all around is the best open wheel LMP1 car in the game.

in GT3 these are the best times i can get.
i can get a 9.125 in my Zonda C12s and 9.1 in my RUF RGT. the fastest race car bar the F! is the LM mitsu FTO with a 9.2 in the F1 i can get a 8.7 my top speed in a road car is 420 in a Zonda c12s and in a race car roughly 3000kmh by breaking thru the wall a seattle and going half a million km.

Can we use NOS in races??????

but it's like cheating, just post if the times are done with NOS or not.
(I guess you're one of those NFSU fans)

I dont understand how some of you guys can sit there and fob off Nitrous Oxide as cheating!!!! I agree that to be able to use it in ALL races is a pretty stupid, but most of GT series is aimed towards street racing, where nitrous oxide is used consistently in the street racing scene, not to mention drag racing. If you dont like the fact that pumping a special chemical/gas into the cylinders of cars, then thats your problem, just dont fob off the use of nitrous oxide as cheating, since it used all over the world, by all different people, for different purposes and different machines.

Yes, you guessed right on that one  He's one of them.
I don't see cheating in using NOS in races if the AI is also using it ;)

They are using it too???? That sucks even more, man have you ever seen an official race with NOS? LeMans 24hr with NOS, that would be stupid. Next step is to refuel the NOS tank in pit stops, that would really be stupid.

I can understand NOS in drag racing, but NOS in every race , thats just plain stupid.

Only Vinn Diesel wannabe's will use it in every race

Dont be mad at me, I just want GT4 to lean more to "the real driving simulator", not Need for Speed underground.

know what i mean?

They aren't using it! I said : IF theye were doing that that wouldn't not count as cheating ;)
And I'm absolutley sure about that race cars doesn't have/support NOS from what I belive. That would just plain stupid.

Oh ok, pfew

I'll shut up for now

Why did they have to put NOS in, I hope you can't use it in a race. Same thing with the wings, PD stop trying to please the NFSU fans

Dude, if you don't like it, don't use it! :sly:

I'm really pleased to read that the BMW LMR handles well (even if a bit slower than the R8 or speed8), it's one of my favourite cars. I was lucky too see it winning Le Mans 1999, it was great, althougt it was not as fast (by a very tiny margin)as the Toyota GT one, the car seemed to be much consistant on long runs, and could do a few more laps with the same quantity of fuel. I'm looking forward to driving it !
What about the Mac Laren BMW GTR wich was on GTP, is it as good as other LMP ?
Thanks in advance.

I dont mean to sound harsh but you must be like 12 or something. You do realize nirous existed before need for speed? Stop your NFSU hatred, Plus you have to be an idiot(or just a kid) if you think just because they have added nos and wings they are trying to be like NFSU. And the wings add downforce to cars.:dunce:

The trial Celica is a tuner car no different that the others so you might as well post them too.

Man shut up, i'm allowed to have an opinion

btw nice name, you must think you're all that :yuck: Go **** a dingo

I was reading through the forums, checking out what people had to say about GT4 seeing as I've been drawn back into play it. I stopped after GT1 for those who care.

It's nice to see where ever you go, you're surrounded by ignorance. Johnhannibal I just don't get it. You're arguing with people over the same point, so just incase you hadn't realized that I thought I would point it out.

As for those of you for/against using NOS in GT4, I don't see what the problem is. If you're ignorant enough to believe that NOS if for "ricer" cars and only a "NFSU fan" would want to use it than you have no right to be here complaining or playing GT4 for that matter. NOS is NOS, just like air is air or gas is gas. Racers worldwide use it, albeit frowned upon in professional racing, it's out there. So, if you're ignorant enough to say that it's simply a NFSU thing or a "ricer" thing, don't pick fights over it. From the looks of it, the majority are just here to talk about and debate GT4. Not to pick fights.

Yeesh. I'm SO sick and tired of having to go over this again and again and again.

Nitrous Oxide (as opposed to the NOS brand name) is a means of extracting more power from an engine. It exists in the real world for this purpose, so why should it NOT be in "The Real Driving Simulator"?

What next? Ban turbochargers and superchargers as "cheating"? After all, they increase the power from an engine too.

Nitrous oxide is a valid tuning part. People have it on road cars. It exists in the world of single seater race cars too.

Next up, the wings. What's wrong with functioning wings, on a race track? F1 cars aren't the fastest cars in the world in a straight line, thanks to severe aerodynamic inefficiency of the open-wheel design. But they'll cane things MUCH faster than them around a normal track, as, thanks to their functioning wings, they can go a hell of a lot quicker through the corners. What's wrong with putting a functioning spoiler onto, say, a Honda Integra Type-R? After all, there's a Honda Integra Type-R Race Car in GT4, with a big wing on it. How about taking all the wings off the JGTC Skylines - I mean, they're obviously there for effect and to look cool, because they're on crappy Japanese cars, right?

Open your mind. Utilise that 4 pounds of neuronal mass hiding behind your eyes, and stop regurgitating nonsense your mates tell you.

Thanks in advance.

It can't hang with the R8, Speed 8, BMW v12 or Pescarolo...it is about 200ps (hp) down on power, though i find it one of the more enjoyable LMP cars to drive.
