Dedicated 4 channel ISDN line from a Netstar Webserver thru a 1000 baseT network.

No f**ckin' around there!

56k, it's the only thing available in my area.

mayorbill11 - It costs far too much, but I need it for work so the company I work for paid. :) It's basically a couple of Mac G4s on a 1gig network with a Dell 1ghz which runs the ISDN card and Netstar software. I believe the Netstar stuff costs more than the hardware it runs on!! The ISDN lines are constantly open (dedicated) and can shift serious data (a privilege you pay for monthly).

I don't ask how much it costs, I might have to put up my home insurance.... ;) :p

Not that bad?! You don't know how lucky you are! :)

I've got a 6mbit DSL connection at work, but we rarely get that kind of speed. Every now and then I have to be at work doing server maintenance in the early AM, so I get to max it out. Combined speeds for several transfers was around 720kb/s. That was a lot of music, a song nearly every 5 seconds ... (:

I'm on a 56k:rolleyes: The fastest I've ever downloaded something was at 2 kb/s, no lie.
My Dad has Cable(why don't I, you ask? Because my parents are ignorant)
Brother has T3(dorm room):burnout: Went to a website that allows you to test how fast your computer downloads stuff, and it said his fastest downloading speed(keep in mind the test was just downloading pages full of letters/numbers) was 31XX kb/s(no lie, that's exactly what it said) However, when he downloads songs/videos his average speed is around 960 or so...

I have 56K on both computers, but the one usually connects around 33 and the other in the 50's somewhere.. it used to connect in the 100's. The first computer that I had AOL on only connected at 2400. You have no idea how bad that was.. lol.

Get a Linksys 4-Port Cable/DSL router:
